State and administered by FHI 360.
PROGRAM DESCRIPTION &
OBJECTIVES
The AE E-Teacher Voxy Program helps prepare English teachers to
effectively teach American English language and culture worldwide
while improving their own English language skills.
The program is a self-paced, online program that includes unlimited
group tutoring to practice English communication skills and observe
teaching techniques. It also includes a limited amount of private
tutoring related to specific topics in the teacher training units. With
the exception of tutoring sessions, you do not need to be online on a
specific day, or at a specific time. The program is divided into 9 units,
which typically take 1 to 2 weeks to complete. As you successfully
complete one unit, by achieving 70% or higher on the end-of-unit
assessment, another unit will become available to you.
The course aims are:
• to introduce the principles of Second Language Acquisition
(SLA) & Task Based Language Teaching (TBLT)
• to introduce a range of practical skills for teaching English
• to demonstrate how learning occurs in a real teaching
context
• to present strategies for effective classroom management

ASSESSMENT, TUTORING &
COURSE COMPLETION
ASSESSMENT
Voxy Proficiency Assessment (VPA):
When you begin your program, you will take the VPA to determine your
English level. This level does not change the level of the teacher training
units. However, the difficulty of some of the optional content (Grammar
Guide, etc.) will change based on your level. You will be able to take the VPA
again at he end of the program.
Unit Assessments:
At the end of each teacher training unit, you will take an assessment. You must
achieve 70% or higher on the assessment in order for the next teacher training
unit to become available. If you score below 70%, you will need to review the unit
and take the assessment again.
