Getting Started Customized Reporting gives you the power and flexibility to turn information into actionable insights that work for you. When you have a comprehensive picture of your spending, you can create real impacts for your business.

Customized Reporting is available through a simple and intuitive interface accessed by selecting the “Go” button within the Reports section on the @ Work Home Page.

To access Customized Reporting, first log onto American Express @ Work by visiting the American Express Home Page at https://www.americanexpress.com.

1. Locate the login box and enter your User ID and Password.

2. Select American Express @ Work from the drop-down menu.

3. Click log in.

4. From the @ Work home page, locate the Reports section.

5. Click on the GO button to access Customized Reporting.

Report List: View your Reports The Report List tab is your inbox of reports. View your previously run Customized and Standard reports. A: Use the Now Showing drop down menus to refine your list of reports.

B: Enter Keywords to search through report names and descriptions.

C: Click on an element in the header bar to re-order your reports by that column.

D: Hyperlinked report names indicate Customized reports. Click on the hyperlinked report name to open that report. Reports with an asterisks (*) this indicate a Standard report, see step F to open the report.

E: Click on the Information icon to view Report Description, Date Posted and Company Level.

F: For Standard reports click on the Excel or PDF icon to open the report in Excel or PDF respectively.

G: Click on the notepad icon to modify/customize your report.

H: For Customized reports, click on the export button to export your report.

I: Select the reports you want to delete by clicking in the check box. To select all of the reports click the check box in the header bar. Click the Delete button to permanently delete the selected reports from your Report List.

Report Builder: Select a Report Template From the Report Builder tab you can select the report template you wish to run. This tab contains all American Express templates as well as user saved templates.

A: Select a folder from the left and view the available templates on the right. American Express Templates - all prebuilt templates available (Standard and Customized) Saved Market Templates – My Reports - all templates that have been modified and saved by you. Saved Market Templates – Company Reports - templates that have been modified and saved by anyone in your company that has access to this folder.

B: Use the Category and Type drop down menus to refine your search results.

C: Click the Report Name to view the Template Description.

D: Click the Standard or Customize links to select the type of report you want to run. Choose Standard to set up a report to automatically run and be delivered to your Report List. Choose Customize to run an ad-hoc report that you can manipulate and change.

E: Click on the View Sample icon to view a sample of the highlighted report.

F: Click on the Need Help? icon to view help content.

G: Click on the Report Preferences link to modify your preferences.

Report Builder: Add Report Setup - Standard Report Once you have chosen to run a Standard report, follow the onscreen steps to set up the report to run automatically.

A: Displays the Basic Criteria of the report. Standard reports will not run immediately, timing is based on the Frequency of the report. Monthly reports are based on your program’s cycle cut. Once the report has run it will be posted to your Report List.

B: Use the dropdown menus to change the Advanced Criteria of the report. All reports will run for the next available period (i.e. cycle cut).

C: Click in the check box if you want to rerun the report for the prior period. Reruns take 24-48 hours to appear in your Report List.

D: Click next to continue the set up of the report.

Report Builder: Add Report Setup - Standard Report (continued)

A: Use the Reporting Group and Card Product drop down menus and Hierarchy of Accounts check boxes to select the Control Account you wish see on the report.

Note: Your CID options are dependent on the selection made in the Reporting Group drop down menu. Once you select your CID, the hierarchy for that CID will populate below. Click the check box for the corresponding control account(s) that you wish to see on the report. Standard Reports can only be set up for a single CID but can include multiple control accounts.

B: The Selected Control Account window displays the Control Account(s) that will appear on the report.

C: Enter a Set up Name of your choice to rename the report. Tip: if you set up multiple reports from the same template, rename each report to quickly identify it in your Report List.

D: Use the Previous button to return to the previous screen.

E: Use the Add button to complete your report set up and add this report to your Standard report set ups.

Note: New report set ups take approximately 30 minutes to appear on your Report Manager tab.

Report Builder: Customized Report – Basic Criteria Tab Once you have chosen to run a Customized report, use the simple 3 step process to create the report the best suites your needs.

A: There are three tabs used to build a report. Basic Criteria: Displays all required prompts and must be completed prior to running a report. Data: Allows you to pick which data elements you would like to see on the report. Filter: Allows you to refine your report results. B: Report Type allows you to choose the type of report you would like to build. Note: This prompt is dependent on the report template you have chosen. Often this prompt asks you to chose between a Detailed report (27 months of historical transaction level data) or a Summary Level report (51 months of summary level data). C: The Company Level prompt allows you to select the Control Account(s) you wish to run the report for.

D: The Date prompt allows you to select the time frame for the report. Most reports you can choose between Cycle Date, Business Process Date (day American Express received the transaction), and Charge Date (day the transaction occurred). Note: Depending on the date range selected your report may contain both billed and unbilled transactions. . E: Select a Predefined Date Range or Custom Date Range. Tip: To view an unbilled transaction report choose the Unbilled Transactions option from the Predefined Date Range drop down menu

A: Use the Restore All Defaults to set all template options back to the default. Note: this resets all choices on all three tabs. B: Use the Run Report button from any tab to run your report. C: Click on Save to save your report. Tip: It is recommended you build and run your report before saving to ensure desired results. D: Use the Cancel button to close Report Builder and return to landing page. E: Use the Previous and Next buttons to navigate between tabs.

Report Builder: Customized Report – Data and Filters Tabs

A: Use the Collapse All and Expand All links to hide or show the data elements available on the report. B: Use the check boxes to add (check) or remove (uncheck) individual data elements. C: The Data Display Order box displays the data elements that will appear as column headers on the report. Use the arrows to the right of the box to reorder the data elements (column headers). C: The Data Display Order box will update when you add or remove data selections. Use arrows on the right of the box to change the column order. TIP: double click on elements in this box to quickly remove them from your report. A: Use the + buttons to expand each filter. Follow the onscreen prompts to filter your report results. B: Filter applied indicates a selection has already been made. Note: Refer to the end of this document for more details on how to use the prompts and filters

Report Viewer: View Your Standard Report Results Standard reports can be viewed in either PDF or Excel formats. The PDF format offers on-screen insights highlighting and summarizing key data.

PDF Version A: Report name, report month, Reporting Group and other report specific details. B: Summary level data highlighting key insights. NOTE: First page of PDF provides key insights, following pages provide details. Use the PDF version to gain insight into your program, print this version for a portable summary of key metrics.

Excel Version A: Report name, report month, Reporting Group and other report specific details. B: A summary of the report. C: Report data, use the excel version to manipulate, sort and analyze data.

eAccount Review Available in PDF or PowerPoint, this unique Standard Report provides a summary of your program including key metrics and meaningful insights into your company’s spend. A: Multiple pages with data and insights tailored to your program. B: Charts and graphs provide visual representation of overall program spend. C: Key insights to help you make important, informed decisions.

Report Viewer: View Your Customized Report Results A: Report name and date modified. X closes the Report Viewer. The report will be in your Report List. B: Use the arrows to change the Date Range and Company Level. C: Click on Save, Print or Export to view with the report outside of Customized Reporting. D: Click on Schedule to set a time (daily, weekly, monthly) for your report to run automatically. TIP: Save your report prior to scheduling to ensure Amex initiated template changes won’t impact your report. E: The View and Data menus offer multiple options to manipulate your report. View: Grid, Graph, Report Description, Report Criteria, Quick Filter, Advanced Filter, Toolbar. Data: Sort, Filter, Hide/Show Column, Column Order, Rename Column, Insert Calculation, Re-prompt. TIP: Right click in the report results section to quickly perform many of the tasks in the Data menu. F: Advanced Filter: Allows you to further refine your report results by dragging the column header into the module or clicking Add Condition, and then pick the elements you want to see on your report. G: Quick Filter: Allows you to further refine your report results by dragging a column header into the module.

Report Manager: Rerun Reports and Modify or Delete Report Schedules

A: Click on an element in the header bar to re-order your reports by that column. B: Indicates when your report is scheduled to run. C: Click on the Information icon to view Report Description, Company Level and Frequency. D: Deactivate, Activate, or Rerun your Standard reports. E: Modify the schedule of your Customized reports and the criteria of your Standard report setups. F: Select the reports you no longer want to automatically receive by clicking in the check box. To select all of the reports click the check box in the header bar. Click the Delete button to permanently delete the selected reports from your Report Manager.

Note: Standard Reports cannot be deleted from this screen. If you no longer wish to receive the Standard report please use the Deactivate option from this tab.

Prompts and Filters: Understanding the Prompts and Filters Company Level

The Company Level is one of the key prompts on the Basic Criteria tab of a report template.

The selected hierarchy items appear as a string of items in the Selected box. To add control accounts select items from the Available box on the left.

The search feature displays the results as a separate list of items at the bottom of the Available box.

To remove specific items from your selected list, click on any item name to open a list manager pop-up. Add or remove selections and click OK.

Filter Styles

Many of the optional filters on the Filters tab of a report template require an item to be selected prior to adding any filter values. Select the option from the Available box and use the arrows between the boxes to select your choice.

Example: Filtering by a Cardmember Account Number

1. Click “Cardmember Acct. #” from Available box, click on right arrow to select it

2. Click on “Value” link, enter value into box, click OK

3. Click on “ID1” link, select “DISPLAY_REPORT”

4. Click on “EQUALS” to change selection logic (if needed)

Some filters are designed like a tree-like structure. Expand the selections using the +. Once you have made your selection use the arrows between the boxes to select your choice.

Tip: When selecting multiple values on a single filter, always select the “Any selection” radio button option if it appears. This will ensure the correct logic is applied.
