We are fortunate to have Sheila Kessler, attorney with Animal Legal Resources, LLC, speak to us. She describes her talk as follows: Maintaining USDA licensing exemptions for dog breeders is not about avoiding regulations; it is necessary to protect the privacy and the security of your kennel. When that kennel is also your home, it is doubly important to maintain privacy. Information kept by the USDA on licensed kennels is subject to inspection and review by anyone who files a requestundertheFreedomofInformationAct.LearnhowtostayexemptfromUSDAlicensingand protect your privacy and security.
