    Competition GuidelinesHAIR BATTLE competitors only

    This competition consists of a skit performance accompanied with dancing, acting, and or modeling. Thecontestant will incorporate three MAJOR styles, which is significant to the judging. The Judges want tosee your versatility. All contestants are judged on total look, creativity, innovation, presentation and

    beauty. This competition will allow the stylist to be as creative as their abilities will permit. Make-up andclothes is a factor in judging.

    Individual Registration:1. The competition is open to licensed professional cosmetologist2. Entry Fee: $350.00 NON-REFUNDABLE3. Due no later than March 14, 2011 (This ensures commitment)4. Balance Due no later than May 15, 20115. Contestant must have at least (3) three models within the specified

    guidelines, and or allowed no more than (15) models6. Contestant must choose (1) model of their choice for their COMB OUT

    7. Each competitor is required to sell 10 tickets8. By entering this competition and signing below you allow the Texas

    International Hair and Trade Show to use your footage for marketing, and futurepromotions.

    9. Competitors are responsible for their own working tools10. 30 point scoring system is used. Judges decision is final11. A total of (7) seven minutes is given to perform. This time is inclusive of

    entrance/exit, comb-out, and stage presentation. One point will be deductedfrom your total score for every minute contestants goes over allotted time. Ifany contestants are more than 3 minutes over time allotment, music will beturned off. NO EXCEPTIONS

    12. NO PROFANITY IN MUSIC AND NO NUDITY13.The three categories are as follows TRENDY: This style represents what is

    popular in this time. CLUE: What are the celebrities wearing?14. BEAUTIFUL BOUNCY: CLUE: This is exactly what it states a beautiful bouncy

    moving style. If it is a body wrap or a long weave it should move with the modeland not be weighed down with product.

    15. THEME: CLUE: This should represent your theme be it fantasy or not the judgesshould be able to point out that this model is your theme model.

    FYI (Pre-Judging): This is how pre-judging works. Competitors will be assigned atime to arrive for prejudging show day.All groups must participate in pre-judging.Categories: Trendy, Bouncy, and Theme. Each contestant will send thespecified model into the pre-judging room. Every model for the specifiedcategory will be in the pre-judging room at the same time. The judges willline the models up and complete their scoring. After the judges are

    finished scoring those models will be escorted out of the pre-judgingroom for they are finished being pre-judged. The remaining models willbe judge as a whole on stage. However, they too will be judged againstall other groups.

    Comb Out:

    Competitors will have (7) minutes total on stage. During this time frame you must comb out aselected model. The competitor can do this by using a cutting technique of their choice or bystyling as long as the style changes form. This will take place on stage during the performance.

    You will be judged on the finished look.

    Stage Presentation:Your stage presentation should all be done within the (7) timed minutes in which you are allowed.

    Each competitor will be judged on their stage presentation. All have been warned about profanity and

    nudity. Also be sure to have an assigned group of helpers at the least 2 (two) who knows where the propsshould be placed. Its imperative to get the props set up in a timely matter. Each competitor will have a

    minute of set up time, and an extra minute of grace period anything over your music and time will start.

    Note: All contestants are allowed to do all these styles with extensions ornatural hair.

    The artist must sign and submit the official entry application and the required fee.In doing so, the Artist agrees to abide by the decision of the judges.There must bea minimum of 10 contestants for each contest by the start of thecompetition. If it is not 10 contestants at the start of the competitionprizes/prize money will be altered. No refunds or exchanges for anycompetition.The International 30-Point System of scoring will be used for theselection of winners. The Chair of the Judges scores will be used to break any ties.
