Amey and Black & Veatch, operating as BBV, will start work in April 2014 and be responsible for programme management, design, stakeholder engagement and construction of sewer infrastructure work across Scotland. The Quality and Standards IV (Q&S) Investment Programme will run until April 2021. Under an alliance agreement Amey and Black & Veatch will operate as equal joint venture partners working in collaboration with Scottish Water. Each of the joint venture partners has provided wastewater services on behalf of Scottish Water for over 20 years. This latest work forms part of a wider investment by Scottish Water to improve infrastructure for its five million customers across the country. Osmoflo forms wastewater business A ustralian water solutions and desalination company Osmoflo has established a wastewater business to serve increasing demand from industry and the utilities sector for efficient wastewater treatment systems that maximise water reuse. Osmoflo’s wastewater business will offer a full range of wastewater treatment systems in addition to membrane-based technologies. Contract options include engineering, procurement and construction (EPC); design, build, operate and maintain (DBOM); build, own and operate (BOO); rental; and commercial lease. The wastewater business will be based at Osmoflo’s manufacturing facility in Burton, South Australia with technical representatives located at the company’s offices throughout the country. “Osmoflo has wide Australian and international experience in provision of plants enabling reuse or the discharge of treated water in full compliance with regulatory standards however the new business signifies a dedicated approach within the company to wastewater management, one that we believe industry has come to expect from providers of water solutions” said Jamie Roodenrys, Osmoflo manager, wastewater. “Demand for reuse is being driven by growing community and industry expectations relating to sustainable, cost effective and reliable wastewater treatment coupled with the implementation of increasingly stringent regulatory standards particularly relating to environmental discharge. These factors are bringing about a renewed focus on all aspects of wastewater treatment and recycling,” added Roodenrys. Amiad awarded US$1.1mn filtration contract in Angola A miad has won a US$1.1 million contract from the Mitrelli Group to supply and install drinking water filtration systems in the Angolan province of Moxico as part of Mitrelli’s ‘Water for All’ project. During 2014, Amiad will install and commission 50 filtration systems that will be at the core of the water treatment and filtration solution to pump water from the local river to supply clean water to the villages in Moxico and Kuanza Sul. Arik Dayan, CEO of Amiad Water Systems, said: “Access to clean drinking water is fundamental to the wellbeing of the Angolan population and we’re delighted to have been selected to take part in this important project and make this a reality. Scottish Water appoints JV as preferred bidder for £340mn programme

A joint venture of Amey and Black & Veatch has been appointed

preferred bidder to provide a range of wastewater services valued at more than £340 million in a collaborative alliance with Scottish Water.

Amey and Black & Veatch, operating as BBV, will start work in April 2014 and be responsible for programme management, design, stakeholder engagement and construction of sewer infrastructure work across Scotland.

Osmoflo forms wastewater business

Australian water solutions and desalination company Osmoflo

has established a wastewater business to serve increasing demand from industry and the utilities sector for efficient wastewater treatment systems that maximise water reuse.

Osmoflo’s wastewater business will offer a full range of wastewater treatment systems in addition to membrane-based technologies. Contract options include engineering, procurement and construction (EPC); design, build, operate and maintain (DBOM); build, own and operate (BOO); rental; and commercial lease.

Amiad has won a US$1.1 million contract from the Mitrelli Group

to supply and install drinking water filtration systems in the Angolan province of Moxico as part of Mitrelli’s ‘Water for All’ project.

During 2014, Amiad will install and commission 50 filtration systems that will be at the core of the water treatment and filtration solution to pump water from the local river to supply clean water to the villages in Moxico and Kuanza Sul.
