Ways to make a misleading Graph

• Moving the x­axis to make changes look more dramatic• Linking unrelated information• Using multiple scales• Not using a scale at all• Changing the size of the scale within the chart• Shifting an object in 3D

Make up a table of statistics ­­ any kind of statistics you want.  There should be about 5 ­ 8 entries in your table:

Football statsDouble­takeouts madeNumber of Justin Bieber concerts attendedAverage Rubik's solving timeKills in HaloMarks in class

etc.

Then, create a few different graphs that show different things.

(For example, if your table shows number of kills in Halo and you have 56 and your friend has 53, you could make a bar graph and start your y­axis at 50 to make it look like you have much more.)

(For example, if your table has values that go up and then down or down and then up, you could choose only a certain set of dates to make it look like your graph is only going up or only decreasing.)
