1. In what ways does your media product, use, develop or challenge

forms and conventions of real media products?

Created by Jaye Parker

My music video uses, develops and challenges forms and conventions of real media products. Like many real media products there is lip synching in my music video, which is done by my fellow group member Hayley, who plays the role of lead singer Jenn Krahn. Also in many real media products the singer/band play instruments such as Sandi Thom in Lonely Girl (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yInfCKRNITQ), and we have also done this in our video with Hayley playing the guitar and the piano.

Also as in many other real media products we filmed in a number or different locations. The first place we filmed was in Hayley’s bedroom, which is where most of the lip synching takes place. Using the bedroom as one of the locations shows the audience, that she’s still a young girl and has yet to explore the world.

Locations

Unlike some real media products such as Wham ‘Club Tropicana” (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AkTRh5YlEVE), exotic locations haven’t been used within my music video.

Unlike many real media products we also have some montage footage; this was made using different shots that we had filmed, and also has a home video footage feel. An example of this can be seen in 30 Seconds To Mars ‘Closer To The Edge’ (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mLqHDhF-O28), which is mainly made up of footage from their tour.
