n Russia’s GAZ Group and America’s General Motors have formed a JV following the acqui-sition by GAZ for an undisclosed sum of the Penske 50% holding in Italian diesel engine maker, VM Motori. Previously, Penske and GM owned VM with GM having purchased its 50% stake from Penske in 2007 after a decade
GAZ swoops of collaboration. During that time, VM supplied GM with diesel engines for its cars. Mike Arca-mone, VP of GM Pow-ertrain Europe, says the new partnership will expand the business. As part of the JV, GAZ will produce VM engines under license in two to three years’ time when a new factory – to be built in either Yaroslavl
