AUNT’S NEIGHBOUR WHO HAD MULTIPLE FRACTURE

Way back in 1974, when I (Dr. Henri) was in the 7 th Std my aunt’s neighbor, our acquaintance had several fractures one after the other. She was treated with alignment of the fracture and immobilization. She continued to have fractures with trivial falls. She was then referred to a higher medical institute; where a surgery in the neck was done. Here in this surgery the parathyroid gland was removed.

Parathyroid gland maintains the blood calcium level. Low calcium levels can lead to more sodium ion entering the sodium channels and causing more impulse traffic in motor and sensory nerves.

-broken bones, renal stones
