and Regulations for School Candidates booklet.

KEY RULES & REGULATIONS

Report at least

45 minutes before the

start of your examination.

DO NOT BRING THESE ITEMS INTO THE

EXAMINATION VENUEPhones and electronic devices, including but not limited to:

1.Concealed communication devices

2.Miniature wireless receiver

3.Pen set(s) with built in earpiece and wireless

communication function

4.Smart Watch and fitness trackers

5.Smart Glasses

Note: Phones and electronic devices are strictly prohibited during the entire examination duration, which includes the reporting time, examination start and end times and quarantine time.

DO NOT BRING THESE ITEMS INTO THE

EXAMINATION VENUE

Bags or other unauthorised

personal belongings(e.g. and not limited to: well-wishes

card / lucky charm plush toy)

Please note that the above are just some examples and that the list of prohibited

materials is non-exhaustive. Please contact SEAB if you require further clarification.

Reference materials or notes(e.g. and not limited to: past day’s

examination paper / sticky notes /

mathematical set formula

/ personal flash drive)

Do NOT communicate with other candidates

inside or outside the examination venue during

the examination.

Do NOT commit or attempt to commit any acts of dishonesty.

Examination materials such as used or unused

answer booklets and writing papers must NOT be

removed from the examination venue.

Examination materials are copyrighted.

They must NOT be reproduced,

uploaded, posted, transmitted or

distributed in any way.

BEFORE YOU ENTER THE EXAMINATION VENUE

• Bring along your Entry Proof and NRIC/Foreign

Identification documents/ Student Concession Card.

• If you are wearing an outerwear (e.g. jackets,

cardigan, sweater), make sure that the outerwear does

not contain any unauthorised materials or devices. You

may be asked to remove the outerwear for checking.

Do NOT start writing until you are told to do so;

Do NOT continue to write after the stop writing announcement

had been made.

Place your Entry Proof,

NRIC or foreign

identification documents

on your desk throughout

the examination.

• You are not allowed to leave the exam centre

during the break except to go to the toilet.

• You can wear your School PE T-shirt with

school pants.

• One-time issue of surgical face-mask from

school

IMPORTANT NOTES

You must wear your face mask when you report for your

examination.

When you are seated in your examination room, you are

allowed to wear a face mask or face shield during your

examination.

However, when you leave the examination room, you must put

on your face mask. Do also note that the invigilator may ask

you to remove your mask for a short while to verify your

identity during attendance taking.

USE OF DICTIONARIES IN EXAMINATIONS

Do NOT bring dictionaries into examinations

where the use of dictionaries is prohibited.

Refer to SEAB website for the

list of approved dictionaries.

Use of dictionaries which are

not approved will be treated

as a breach of examination

regulations.

PRINT DICTIONARIES

Only monolingual

dictionaries are allowed.

Dictionaries must NOT have

any annotations such as:

(a) tagging of pages with

stickers;

(b) highlighted text; and

(c) written text.

ELECTRONIC DICTIONARIES

Make sure your e-dictionary is in good working

condition. You are encouraged to bring an

additional e-dictionary (if you have) or spare

batteries.

Ear pieces and external storage medias (e.g.

SD card and plug-in modules) must NOT be

brought into the examination hall.

You are NOT allowed to borrow

calculators or dictionaries from other

candidates during the examination.

If you breach any examination rules and

regulations, you may be:

• prohibited from taking the examination;

• expelled from the examination room;

• refused entry for subsequent papers;

• have your results annulled or a grade

penalty; and/or

• banned from registering for national

examinations in future years.

WHAT TO DO DURING AN

UNEXPECTED SITUATION

If you wish to continue to sit the

examination(s), please obtain a

letter from the doctor certifying

that you are medically fit to do so,

and inform the school. The school

will make the necessary

arrangements for you to sit the

examination(s) in a designated

Centralised Exam Centre.

Contract contagious disease(s) just before or

during the examination period; hospitalisation

If you have contracted a

contagious disease just

before or during the

examination period,

please see a qualified

medical practitioner.

If you are hospitalised,

inform the school.

Arrangements will be

made for you to take

the examination(s) in

the hospital if you are

certified medically fit to

take the examination(s).

GOOD PRACTICES

Plan your route and journey time

so that you will be able to report to

your examination venue at least

45 minutes in advance.

Check your belongings to make

sure you have everything you

need before you leave home.

THINGS TO BRING

Entry proof

NRIC / Foreign identification / Student concession

Approved Dictionary (with school stamp)

Stationery such as Blue or Black pen (Bring

extras)

Water bottle

Light snacks (e.g bread) to eat for break (if you

need)

You are NOT ALLOWED to use correction tapes during

the examination.

Read the instructions carefully

on the question booklets/ answer

booklets.

Listen carefully to all

announcements given by the

invigilator(s) before/during/after

the examination. Ensure that

you follow instructions at all

times.

SOME USEFUL ADVICE FOR

YOUR EXAMINATIONS

Stay calm, you have done your revision. You can do it!

Clarify any doubts that you may have on the

examination rules and regulations with your

teacher.

Have enough rest.

Drink sufficient water to keep

yourself well-hydrated.

Eat healthily to avoid falling sick

during the examination period.
