Project Description:
Lightspeed was involved in the supply and Installation of the Fibre Backbone for the backhaul for the data transfer to WiFi access Points around the Perth CBD Perth WiFi covers the Perth CBD and key public areas including St Georges Terrace, the Murray and Hay Street Malls, Forrest Place and adjoining streets. The tourism precinct of Barrack Square and the iconic Stirling Gardens are also included in the blanket coverage are, all running on a fibre optic backbone Lightspeed Communications & Electrical worked closely with City of Perth to install the new fibre backbone which supports wireless points to run the new WiFi system in and around the Perth CBD. Works involved the audit and documentation of more than 32,000m of pit and pipe, as well as the installation of more than 9,500m of fibre optic Cable with multiple joints and terminations. This is part of an ongoing maintenance contract that will increase extra WiFi access points and fibre upgrades as well as redundant fibre rings for other services to the city of Perth.

Project Description:
The Telfer gold-copper mines are in the Great Sandy desert in the East Pilbara region of WA, 400 kilometres east-south–east of Port Hedland. Telfer comprises the Main Dome and West Dome open pits and the Telfer underground mine. Lightspeed Communications was involved with the termination of many of the optic fibre cables that create the 36 core single mode cable ring, which the entire site runs on. Lightspeed have been doing ongoing maintenance at Telfer
since 2004 and emergency call outs when required.

Project Description:
Jarman McKenna was founded on 1 July 2003 and started its life as a
specialist boutique insurance litigation firm. More recently the firm has
developed a general commercial law practice and has grown
significantly in size and expertise since it was founded.
Due to their expansion Jarman McKenna acquired a new office space in
there building previously occupied by a bank.
Lightspeed Communications and Electrical were engaged to design and
implement the removal of the redundant power and data as well as the
installation of the new structured data cabling and electrical works.
The works included the installation and commissioning of:
• Backbone fibre optic cabling for server room connectivity and
disaster recovery capabilities.
• Certified installation of structured cabling data outlets to all
proposed desk and office positions as well as provision for
future expansion.
• Site wide electrical for all workstations, offices, meeting rooms,
lighting and emergency systems.
• AV cabling for boardroom connectivity including sub-floor
service panels.

Project Description: The Methodist Ladies' College, Perth (MLC Perth), is an independent, Uniting Church, day and boarding school for girls, located in Claremont, a western suburb of Perth, Western Australia. The College now provides more than 1120 Australian and international students with a holistic education. Lightspeed Communications was engaged to continue the civil mode fibre optic upgrade to the Walton and boarding house areas of Mercedes College. In addition to this, the new computer lab at Walton required 10 gigabit connectivity and as such a new krone cat 6a certified structured cabling system was installed to these areas. The fibre optics component of the works required the installation of new conduit and cable pathways to facilitate fibre optic reticulation through the heritage listed buildings. All works were completed on time and under budget.
