The skeletal system

• The skeletal helps support the body

• Protects internal organs

• Allows movement

• Stores mineral reserves

• Provides a site for blood cell in formation

Kwanruthai Glinbua

Types of joints

• Immovable Joints

• Slightly Movable Joints

• Freely Movable Joints

- Ball-and-Socket Joint

- Hinge Joint

- Pivot Joint

- Saddle Joint

Bone• Bones are surrounded by

periosteum• Bone is attached to each

other by ligaments• Cartilage helps bones

move without harming • Inside bone it contains a

soft tissue called bone marrow

• Haversian canals are contain blood vessels and nerves

3 Types of Muscle Tissues• Skeletal Muscles

- are responsible for voluntary movements.- are striated and have many nuclei.- are controlled by the nervous system.

• Smooth Muscles- are not voluntary movement.- are not striated and have one nucleus.- are not controlled by the nervous system.

• Cardiac Muscles- are found in only the heart.- is striated and have one nucleus.- not controlled by the nervous system directly.

Muscle Contraction

Control of Muscle Contraction

• A neuromuscular junction is the point of contact between a motor neuron and a skeletal muscle cell.

• Acetylcholine (a neurotransmitter released by the motor neuron) diffuse a synapse to produce the impulse.

• The impulse releases the calcium ions that make the myosin and actin filaments to interact.

How Muscles and Bones Interact

• Tendons where the skeletal muscles are joined the bones.

• When one muscle contracts, the other relaxes.

• Muscle tones help for keeping your back and legs straight and the head upright.

The Integumentary System

• The wall against infection and injury

• Removes waste products from the body

• Helps to regulate body temperature

• Provides protection against UV from the sun

Kwanruthai Glinbua

Intergumentary organs

• Skin - Epidermis layer - Dermis layer• Hair

- produced by cells at the hair follicles.• Nail

- grow from nail root in which produce keratin to protect the tips of fingers and toes. Natthinee Sudjaitham
