Christmas Project 2017

Let us celebrate the joy of living and giving this season by

remembering and reclaiming the missional meaning of Jesus’

birth! Our gifts this year will be used to help support the boys at

the Waccamaw Youth Center and Help4Kids.

Each year your gifts help provide food for Christmas dinners for

the families of Help4Kids and various needs for the boys at the

Waccamaw Youth Center.

Additionally, there will be an Angel Tree in the Commons that

will allow your family to become more involved in the support of

the Waccamaw Youth Center this Christmas by either purchasing

gifts for one of the boys at the WYC or helping supply daily

needs for the center.

Monetary and Angel Tree gifts need to be received

by December 17! Please mark your monetary gifts

“Christmas Project”. You may also give online as

www.fumcconway.org or

text to give at 73256 and follow the prompts.

A virgin birth. God’s son…a helpless baby. Fleeing

certain death. Nothing about the Christmas story is

ordinary. Mike Slaughter says it’s enough to

confound the mind and make the heart contrite. In his

book, Down to Earth, Slaughter presents a four-week

Advent study that opens up God’s Christmas surprise

to us and examines how it changed everything.

Down to Earth Wednesdays @ 6:15 p.m. in Room 217

A peaceful worship service for those who struggle with finding the joy of the Christmas season because of a recent change or loss due to death, divorce, sickness, stress or unfortunate and tragic circumstances.

The Blue Christmas is an attempt to minister to these needs while still recognizing that part of the reason for Jesus coming was to bring hope and comfort.
