It is data about data We use it to find and categorise information

– Who links to you and are they reputable?– How fresh is your content?

Then index– Your pages are broken up into its individual words

And finally serve– The list of words is then reassembled for a match

to a search term. Page rank, proximity etc...

Meta tags & meta descriptions

Getting your metadata right Think about your metadata from the start. Make the title of the page relevant. Write key words into your content. Take time over your meta description. Don’t forget to describe your images. None of the major search engines use key

word meta tags anymore.
