AP1 COURSE INFORMATION
Instructor: Brenda Holmes MSN/Ed, RN Associate ProfessorCourse: BIOL 2064
Welcome to AP1
My name is Brenda Holmes. Welcome to our online course in human anatomy and physiology. I will be facilitating this A&P 1 course this semester. If you have not read the syllabus (which you will find under syllabus) yet and you have questions, I will let you know here that my campus e-mail is the best way to reach me (bholmes@southark.edu), but reaching me by phone (the call will roll over to my email) also works if I am not expected to call back immediately (870-862-8131, ext. 390).
Remember to read the syllabus that contains the details about the course. After reading the syllabus and you have done the first step to finding out what the course is about and what you will have to do to pass it, the next step is to familiarize yourself with the online menus within the Blackboard homepage.
To find the lecture assignment you will need to go to “Lecture and exams” and lab assignments, go to ‘lab assignment' located in “anatomy and physiology” respective chapter assignments. The lab exercises are handled separately and placed in your journal. Also incorporated in this course is a “review of questions”. This is for you to practice to see what you have learned and check if you are ready for the lecture exam. The lecture exam comes in two (2) component. The first, Part A, is True/False and multiple choice. The second, Part B, is essay.
Another good resource and practice is the books website. It might be WISE to look there at times. You might find some surprising answers. You will find the link under "External Link": Books website.
I wish you all a productive term and progress - and if it does not feel like progress, I hope you will let me know so that we can figure out how to make it progress!!!
Good luck

Course Description
Course Description This is the first of a two-semester study of the structure
and functions of the organ systems of the human body and how they work together to maintain homeostasis. The course is designed for majors in health profession programs. A lab is required. Each section will be graded using the weighted measurement format. For example lecture exams are 60% of your grades, labs 40%. Each exam and assignment will be given a certain percent to make your grade.
