Materials:

1 Skein Cascade Heritage Silk, 85% Merino Wool, 15% Silk; 437 yds/400m, 3.5 oz/100g.

Size 5 US/3.75 mm needles.

Cable needle.

Gauge:

9 st per inch across in scarf pattern

Pattern:

Cast on 38 sts

Row 1: P3, k2tog, yo twice, k2tog, pm, [k1, p1] 4 times, pm, k2tog, yo twice, k2tog twice, yo twice, k2tog,

pm, [k1, p1] 4 times, pm k2tog, yo twice, k2tog, p3. WS

Row 2: K5, p1, k1, [k1, p1] 4 times, k2, p1, k3, p1, k1, [k1, p1] 4 times, k2, p1, k4.

Row 3: P3, k4, [k1, p1] 4 times, k2, k2tog, yo twice, k2tog, k2, [k1, p1] 4 times, k4, p3.

Row 4: K7, [k1, p1] 4 times, k4, p1, k3, [k1, p1] 4 times, k7.

Row 5: P3, k2tog, yo twice, k2tog, [k1, p1] 4 times, k2tog, yo twice, k2tog twice, yo twice, k2tog, [k1, p1] 4

times, k2tog, yo twice, k2tog, p3.

Repeat these 8 rows until scarf is 46 inches long. Bind off loosely. Wet the scarf and lay flat to dry stretch-

ing to 56 inches long.

Abbreviations

C8f – slip 4 sts to cable needle and hold in front. [K1, p1] twice, [k1, p1] twice from cable

needle.

Pm - place marker

Yo twice – 2 yarn overs. Bring the yarn under the right needle, then continue over the needle until yarn

reaches it’s starting point. Repeat for 2nd yarn over. Each yarn over will be either knitted or purled in the

following row.
