Seminar on“Stress Analysis of Eccentric Gear with

Asymmetrical Profile of Teeth”

Under guidance of,Prof. V.U.Mane

Presented by,Sachin YadagudiRoll No- 59

Objective

stress calculated in a standard way according to available formulas is approximate because some impacts cannot be determined with sufficient accuracy.

The problem is solved for elliptical, eccentric gear with asymmetrical profile of tooth.

Inroduction

• The stress calculation of this non-standard gearing is very complex

• Comparative stress• The complicated shape of the teeth is the

determination of stress in the teeth difficult• stress examining in a section of the foot tooth

with asymmetrical profile

Bending Stress of Gearing

Gear with Asymmetrical Profile of Tooth

• Noncircular gear with variable transmission

• Module= 3.75 mm• Changing gear ratio for

analysis • Ellipse formed with the

basic parameters

Meshing of Gears

Changing transmission ratio

• Mesh generated elliptical gear, speed varies in u=0.5 through u=1.0 until u=2.0 and back

• Drive wheel gear speed is constant

• Continuous changing of the gear ratio driven wheel speed is not constant

Rotational speed

Stress of Teeth by FEM• Create a geometric model of the

gear• determine the material constants,

the type of finite element, and boundary conditions

• gear continuously variable transmission numbers

• stress in a dangerous section of the tooth is determined using FEM

Results of stress in the section of toothGear ratio u = 0.5 u = 1 u = 2

Solutions to stress in gear by FEM

Analysis of gear teeth

• the medium stress in a dangerous section of tooth

• The stress in the foot the tooth drive gear increases with gear ratio

Conclusion

Stress in a dangerous section of teeth on the load side and on the opposite side is different

The stress in the foot the tooth drive gear increases with gear ratio.
