His Work

• Most of the music videos he has directed are quite abstract and strange an example is Radiohead “Street Spirit” however Richard Ashcroft’s “A Song For The Lovers” has a slight narrative to it.

• His videos are dark and black and white and have a slow pace an example is UNKLE “Rabbit in Your Headlights” however Jamiroquai “Virtual Insanity” is different to his usual work as it is bright and lively but doesn’t get away from the theme of death.

• The artist is usually promoted In the videos as they are shown throughout the video.

• The videos reflect the genre of the artist for example in the Jamiroquai video the genre is pop and this is represented in the video as it light and expressive.

• Within some of his videos, you an hear people talking over the track, which gives a sense of unease.

Does Your Director Prove or Disprove Auteur Theory?

•PROVES… … because his videos are distinctive and he follows the

same themes for his videos and uses the same visual signatures.

Except the Jamiroquai “Virtual Insanity” where the video contradicts this as it is completely different to his other work. This may have been because he wanted to branch out from his usual videos.
