Year 3 with Miss Anthony and Mrs Alexander.

Year 4 with Mr McCormick and Miss Kennedy.

Year 5 with Mr Shields and Miss Angus.

Year 6 with Mrs Davies and Mr Shaw.

Every Autumn, we support The People’s Kitchen, a local charity which helps homeless people in

Newcastle by giving them a hot meal and someone to talk to.

Mr Baker is a volunteer at the charity and his good work was recognised this year when he was an

official torch bearer for the London 2012 Olympic Games.

He asked us to help the local charity by bringing in tea, coffee and sugar.

He allowed the children to hold the Olympic torch!

We collected lots of tea coffee and sugar which we placed on the alter, then held a special mass in

church to thank God for the harvest.

We then took our donations to the People’s Kitchen where they were gratefully received.

As well as supporting The People’s Kitchen, we also raised money for Children in Need.

The children paid £1 to come to school wearing something crazy…

…or something lazy! The money raised was then donated to Children in Need for those children who

are less fortunate than us.

We have had a great autumn helping others and are really looking forward to the Christmas celebrations

now that we have entered advent.
