We increase public awareness of dyslexia by providing mentoring, counseling, tutoring, skills training, and literacy enhancement opportunities;

Dyslexia is a learning disability that impairs a person's ability to read, and which can manifest itself as a difficulty with :

1) phonological awareness,

2) phonological decoding,

3) orthographic coding,

4) auditory short-term memory and/or

5) rapid naming.

Dyslexia is separate and distinct from reading difficulties resulting from other causes, such as a non-neurological deficiency with vision or hearing, or from poor or inadequate reading instruction.

It is estimated that dyslexia affects between 5 and 17 percent of the population.

There are three proposed cognitive subtypes of dyslexia:

1) auditory

2) visual and

3) attentional

Dyslexia is not an intellectual disability, it is considered both a learning disability and a reading disability.

Although our staple is redressing dyslexia, we can and will invest in any disadvantaged youth desiring to make a positive change , with the vision of becoming a productive citizen and a builder of society.
