CATCH the Wave of Saying Thanks and Congratulations to the CATCHProgram as Captured in a Special 25 Year Retrospective Articleby Lewis First MD, MS, Editor in Chief, Pediatrics

The Community Access to Child Health (CATCH) Program began in 1992, and since then has provided grantfunding to 1,700 pediatricians through its 842 planning, 585 resident, and 305 implementation grants. CATCHhas affected children of all ages and stages, from all cultures and environments, with a special focus on helpingserve the underserved and overcoming those who suffer from some unfortunate social determinants of health. To call special attention to the amazing and outstanding work of CATCH, Oettgen et al. (10.1542/peds.2018-2551) have written a special article that captures 25 years of history in the CATCH program, and the outcomesand impact it has had on children, families, pediatricians and communities. The number of pediatricians whohave and are still participating in CATCH projects combined with the outcomes achieved makes for aremarkable story and a great read.  If you haven't participated in CATCH, this article should catch your attentionand motivate you to at least apply for a CATCH grant on the next cycle in your state, so you can be included infuture special articles describing the remarkable achievements that CATCH has accomplished, and perhapswith your participation in a CATCH project in your community-you will be part of those future accomplishments.
