Slogans A slogan is a short, catchy phrase that is
always attached to a company/product’s name and logo
Obvious Examples: Nike: ______________ McD’s: ______________
1. Play on Wordsa. Blue Jay Fever: Catch It!
2. Explanation of what the product doesa. Nyquil: I need a ‘sniffling, sneezing,
coughing, aching, stuffy head fever so-you-can-rest’ medicine
3. Description of the producta. Duracell: The copper-top battery
4. Benefit of the producta. Ivory Soap: 99 and 44/100 percent pure
5. Something about the company– Dofasco: Our product is steel, our strength
is people
Write down 10 slogans from companies that you can remember. For each slogan, indicate the type of slogan it is, and rate the slogan based on the characteristics of good slogans. You must provide a rationale for your rating.
