• Christian Children’s Fund is a dynamic global force for children, working in more than 34 countries, assisting over 4.6 million children and families

• Since its inception in 1938, CCF has provided more than $2 billion in services to children-- most of the funding coming from individual contributors

• CCF works in partnership with a broad spectrum of local and international organizations

• Health & Nutrition ( WATSAN and Food security)

• HIV/AIDS

• Early Childhood Development

• Micro Enterprise Development

Indicators- 3 Core

• Death of under five children due to diarrhea

• Access to safe drinking water

• Access to safe disposal of excreta

New indicators

• Percent of households with drinking water from piped water source or covered well

• Percent of households with access to a flush toilet

• Percent of households with a special place for hand washing

• Percent of mothers who wash their hands before food preparation, before infant/child feeding, after defecation, and after attending to a child who has defecated

Control of Diarrheal Disease:Crucial Activities/Interventions

Promotion of appropriate hand-washing practices.

Use of ORS and or the use of appropriate home based fluids in case of diarrhea.

Feeding practices (continuation of breastfeeding frequent small feedings – catch up feeding) in case of diarrhea.

Proper recognition and care seeking for serious cases (dehydration, dysentery and persistent diarrhea).

Promote proper case management and counseling for diarrheal diseases by health workers at all levels.
