Circles Around the World Project

Project Overview

This project will take you on a virtual scavenger hunt around the world and introduce you to six amazing structures that are built in the shape of a circle.

Using the clues on each slide, you will take a virtual tour of five countries to find the buildings that match the clues.

Scavenger Hunt Task and Rubric

1) Find the building:

Read the clue and take a virtual tour of the country.

Record the name of the building.

Record 3 interesting facts about the building

Get a picture (hand-drawn, printed, screenshot)

50 points

2) Create a presentation:

Include the name of each building, 3 facts, and picture.

The presentation can be in any form such as:

Booklet, powerpoint, word document, google doc, google slides, posterboard, or any other form of display that will include the required information.

The architecture of

this building is music

to your eyes.

Although located in the

Golden State, its name

implies that you'd find it in

Washington, DC.

This structure is only partially standing, but it's a must-see when in Rome. It hosted major events for free!

Day 3

Unlike its name suggests, it doesn't take photos, but Mrs. Arno would be very interested in what's on its shelves inside.

Day 4

You're ahead of schedule so you have plenty of time to stay in England for 1 more day.

This structure was built for a Queen. It's foundation is not round, but it's face is.

Day 5

...to the desert sands of Abu Dhabi.

This colossal building makes a statement of authority as it stands far above the rest. It even has a specific American coin in its name.

Day 6 Final Destination...

This building is a circle without a center.It stands tall along a river named for an oyster treasure.
