As of Dec 09 China has so far accounted for $51bn of the $59bn spent by governments worldwide.
The possibility of stimulus spending commitments being withdrawn in 2010 and 2011 are more likely in debt‐ridden western countries.

Opportunity: A Smart Mobility Strategy
• In 2010, clean cars will accelerate a broader shift, influencing the new energy paradigm and the design of urban systems– Roll out of infrastructure to accommodate eco cars,
from Better Place-type models to green car insurance
– Smart grid enables plug-in cars, which start to displace need for new power plants
– Shipping and ports begin to embrace smart mobility (LA and Rotterdam already making moves)
