Group classes
Our groups contain a maximum of 12 students. (Average: 7/8 students)
Minimum number of students necessary for a class is 3.
If the number of students in a group is less than 3 the class is considered equivalent to a one-to-one class. Lyon Bleu
International reserves the right to implement the following changes:
A course of 3 lessons becomes 2 lessons. A course consisting of 2 lessons becomes 1 lesson
Our teachers
All courses are taught by highly trained and qualified teachers specialized in teaching France as a foreign language. A
teacher’s coordinator who is also responsible for the development of our teaching material supervises the teaching
team.
Teaching materials
Each week the teachers and the director of studies create original, adapted and updated teaching material for the
needs for the groups, by using the most recent literature of French as a foreign language teaching, in addition to a
diverse and current selection of written and oral documents. Teaching material is included in the cost.
Tutorat opportunities at Lyon Bleu
In addition to their standard course, students are encouraged to register for free tutoring sessions: more grammar,
oral and written practice workshops for all levels. Taught by intern teachers in Master 1 or 2 in FLE (French as a
Foreign Language), these free additional sessions are open to all our students and are a real added value.
(Tutorate sessions are subject to availabilities and are not guaranteed for each student)
Tests, levels and evaluation
In Lyon Bleu, 6 levels are open all year long from "Absolute Beginner" to "Advanced" levels. We based the levels of
Lyon Bleu on the Common European Framework of reference for foreign language teaching: A1, A2, B1, B2, C1, C2.
Syllabus: Each level is organized around a teaching program which has been carefully planned out over a number of
weeks. This ensures that the linguistic objectives - grammatical, lexical and communicative - are reached and gives
each student a clear vision of their progression.
Evaluation: Lyon Bleu offers a system of evaluation which allows us to place the student in the most suitable group
according to his/her needs, to evaluate progression and to move to the next level as soon as he/she is ready:
An on-line written test before arriving available via a Google form An oral test on the 1st day A weekly evaluation and testing by the teachers
Certificates
A certificate of attendance showing the level which has been reached at the end of the course is provided to the
student at the end of his/her session or can be sent by regular mail to the student (reference to the Common
European Framework of reference for foreign language teaching). This certificate is included in the cost.
