YOUTUBE• Youtube is a website dedicated to letting people express themselves through

videos

• People can share their ideas, talents and feelings to anyone around the world

• There is no limit to the creativity seen on Youtube

#LIKEAGIRL CAMPAIGN• This campaign addressed the issue of people saying some does an activity “like a

girl”, meaning in a weak or overly feminine manner.

• The ads showed young being asked what they thought doing something “like a girl” means to society and what it means to them personally

• The original ad got 53 million views on YouTube during 2014

FACEBOOK• Facebook is a social networking website that allows friends and family to

connect and share their lives with each other.

• It was launched by Mark Zuckerberg in 2004

• It is the world’s largest social networking site with more than 1 million users worldwide

DO US A FLAVOR CAMPAIGN• The Frito-Lay snack company decided to let their customers know that their

opinions matter by letting them submit their chip flavor ideas over social media

• 3.8 million people in 14 countries submitted their ideas through the Facebook app Frito-Lay created

• The winner of the contest was rewarded 1 million dollars

EDUCATION• Since the development of social media, there have been many changes in the way

we teach, learn, and appreciate our education

• There are educational videos on YouTube

• Universities have social media sites

• Computers are used all the time in and out of the classroom

POSITIVES• Social media had made our world smaller

• We can access information from all over the world with the touch of a button

• We have the ability to absorb more information more quickly

• It gives students the chance to broadcast whatever they to the world giving them their own creative licensees

NEGATIVES• Students have a hard time communicating face to face

• Their attention to detail is decreases due to the amount of information they can get within minutes

• Their grammar and pronunciation has declined due to their conversations not using proper grammar

• Their overall performance has declined due to the distraction on their devices, especially when they look at social media while studying

POLITICAL CAMPAIGNS• Social media has become a big part of politics

• It is a way for candidates to get in touch with voters quickly

• Easy to understand posts that are easier to be retweeted or shared

• Politicians can react to major events in the news and share their thoughts and feelings about it

• The main goals are for fundraising purposes and to see where other candidates stand in the race

MORE ABOUT POLITICAL CAMPAIGNS• Candidates do not usually reply to voters post or tweets, instead they host Q and

A’s from company headquarters

• Even people who are not politically savvy and who do not follow candidates on social media will see what their friends and family is learning about the race

• Like minded voters can communicate with each other on their candidates

• Candidates can direct their posts at specific demographics, some posts will resonate with 30 years olds and others with 60 year olds

• Professionals often manage candidates images so that unfiltered content does not land them in hot water

• Campaign managers can then send out the candidates views on pressing issues directly to the person on Facebook
