content line by line, you will need to review the information and select key points that will be of interest to the employer you are seeking to impress.

Consider things like the type of industry the employer represents; what is in their job posting as required or ideal skill sets.

DETAILS MATTER! Perfect spelling & grammar (if this is not your strong

suit, ask an English Prof if he/she would be willing to review your cover letter & resume for you.

Keep the focus on what you have to offer the employer NOT what the employer can offer you.

On average, 2 out of every 3 applicants will not get an interview. Make sure your resume/cover letter is not the reason you did not make the cut!

Pay attention to things like: Do you have the proper spelling of the person you are addressing

the letter to? Have you used the proper name of your program?:
