Lesson on some really hard math.

It's hard... It's Monday at 3:15 and I've taken 1000 steps (a regular day at school I

would have 10K steps by 3 in the afternoon). It's a TON of screen time without a lot

of people interaction. I miss the kids and my colleagues so very much.

I'm doing pretty OK. I'm staying positive and grateful for all that I have--including this

job in a great district with support from my colleagues and admin. My course teams

are amazing and I've been able to lean on them for help during distance learning. My

students have produced some great work

In short, I haven't had the time to pick up a new hobby or post Instagram photos of me

baking sourdough bread.

Teacher REFLECTIONS

If I ignore my own children's education, things are fine! My four- and five-year old have 2-3 zooms a day and

cannot work independently when they are not on Zoom. Long days of teaching them while glancing at work

email to give students help or trying to lock myself away for zoom meetings, then working late into the night for

my teaching duties. It's hard to have any sort of balance right now. Since my husband is still reporting to work

I need the weekend and evenings to finish my job.

When I determined to embrace the situation instead of fight it, wish it was over, resent it, my heart and mind

relaxed a bit and days got brighter. Unmet expectations equals frustration. Don't expect life to be as it was,

embrace what it is. You are all truly amazing and inspiring. You're doing a great job. Pat yourself on the back,

take a deep breath, smile, embrace.

I feel like I've earned an advanced degree in scheduling.

Teacher REFLECTIONS

Sense of humor. Check. :-)
