5 Things You Need To Know About

Double Glazing Quotes

Double Glazing Quotes

• Every double glazing company is different. At Zenith we use a fast full home survey to ensure you get the best price we can offer!

To Validate A Double Glazing Quote A

Home Survey Is Used• This is done to make sure you have pricing for the

windows you want & to make sure there are no hidden surprises.

• A surveyor will make a home visit to assess the area pre-manufacture and installation

Who Will Survey My Home?

• Your surveyor will come from the Job Worth Doing Team. (www.jobworthdoing.co.uk)

• Job Worth Doing are Trustmark registered. www.trustmark.org.uk

• This means your surveyor must comply with high standards in addition to the ISO 9001 accreditation held by the company.

Your Double Glazing Survey Will Have 5

StepsStep 1 - Pre-survey

• You don’t need to do much pre-survey, if access to the window is awkward then removing curtains may help.

• We often tell customers that if they can remove the curtains this would be helpful however not essential as our team can do this at the appointment on request.

• They will also clean up the area and move back any heavy furniture after your product has been installed satisfactorily.

Step 2 - Feasibility

• This means double checking your choice of windows from the double glazing quote to ensure you will get the result & look you desire.

• They will take this information from the purchase order that the sales agent left with you.

• The Surveyor will make notes of the requested window styles and also any amendments should these not be feasible.

• This will be discussed in detail with you and if any adjustments are required, these will be noted and agreed by you.

If Your First Choice Of Windows Isn’t

Feasible…• Don’t panic! Your Surveyor will be able to explain why

and talk through alternative options – Though the need to do this is very rare.

• Surveyors are not sales people, their priority is to make sure the installation team can deliver a first class fit and that the A-rated double glazing is optimised to save you money on bills.

Double Glazing Window Styles

The image above shows the three main window styles, standard casement, equal sight-line casement and tilt & turn. They will also show the different opening methods.

Step 3 – Physical Check

• The surveyor will then do a physical check of your property.

• It will involve measuring the window frame to ensure that we can produce a window to suit your requirements.

• They will check the physicalcondition of the window aperture,to see if any remedial works arerequired.

Step 4 – Identify any existing issues

• This will involve the surveyor assessing the exterior region of the window frame to note if there is any existing damage to the surrounding wall or window frame.

Step 5 – Risk Assessment

• A risk assessment will be carried out by the surveyor.

• He will identify if traditional scaffolding is required or if we can use our mobile access system.

• He will also determine if thereare any planning restrictions onthe property or if it is within aconservation area.

• This is done to see if any thirdparty authorisation is requiredbefore the work can take place.

Technical Survey Report

• A copy of the completed technical survey report will be left with you and will confirm any amendments that have taken place to the original order.

• The surveyor will keep you informed of any changes that might be required and will inform you if any change in price is also required – prior to the manufacture and installation commencing.

Technical Survey Report

• If there are pricing changes, our sales agent will discuss these with you and variation of Customer Purchase Order will be raised for you to sign.

• If there are no changes to the price we will then go ahead with the manufacture and installation of your products.
