East Mesa Christian Church
(Disciples of Christ)
~ A Global Mission Church ~
Dear Members and Friends of EMCC:
Please join me in welcoming our new permanent, part-time pastor, Robin Stallings, to
East Mesa Christian Church.
Robin comes to us with 30 years experience as a lay leader of a very large church, First
Christian Church - North Hollywood. Her mentoring pastor had over 50 years
experience as a Disciples of Christ pastor. Robin recently received her Chaplaincy at
Dignity Health where she will continue working part-time. Her Disciples of Christ
ordination took place at First Christian Church - Mesa. She received her Master of
Divinity from Claremont School of Theology, her Certificate of Ministry Studies from
San Francisco Theology Seminary, and her Associate of Arts in Theater from Los
Angeles Valley College.
Robin makes the Bible the core of her life and believes it is meant for us to share and experience together. She
feels more is learned when people share their experience with the Word. And that the Bible reminds us to keep
growing. It is the Living Word and it is the center of church.
Being an avid sports fan, Robin is interested in team sports but also enjoys bowling, tennis, and golf.
Additionally, she has a strong interest in cultural art and is a certified drum circle facilitator. She also has
experience in community theater, and enjoys attending social functions and outings with groups.
Working as a Chaplain at Dignity Health has given Robin experiences with patients and family members
dealing with trauma and tremendous stress. She will be available to our congregation for hospital, rehab, and
home visits, and her chaplain experience will serve her well on those visits.
We, here at EMCC, have been blessed to have the opportunity to receive the benefit of Robin's education, faith,
and life experiences as our new pastor.
Please join us as our church is beginning an exciting time of change and growth as the new year of 2020 also
begins.
Happy New Year and Blessings to all of you!!

SOMETHING TO THINK ABOUT Your Giving Makes It Happen….
Each ministry costs money to maintain. There is no other source of income apart from your offerings for God’s work. Thank you for making ministry possible by your faithful stewardship.
The 2020 stewardship campaign DEVOTED GENEROSITY kicked off in October. Our proposed budget for 2020 is $139,430.00. At this time pledges fall short of what is
needed to meet our proposed budget. Our income for November was $9,530.39. Expenses were $11,699.71. Leaving us with a deficit of $2,169.32 for the month of November.
The balance in the Operating Account at the end of November was $23,230.23 The balance in the Dedicated Account at the end of November was $54,347.07 We have a roof leak in the sanctuary. The bid we have for repair is $14,426.00.
Is the church part of your inheritance plan? If you would like more information on how you can include the church in your giving through Christian Church Foundation, please

Emily Cinda William Susan Carolin Nick Dear Church Family: My health has been a real struggle this past year. And the holiday season was extremely difficult with emergency surgery in October and then a lengthy hospital and nursing facility stay from Nov 26th - Dec 14th. On top of that, I was a victim of identity fraud during my October hospital stay and a victim of robbery during my November/Decenber hospital/nursing facility stay. But my dad, my son, my friends, and my wonderful church family were there for me. I can never thank you all enough for your visits, cards, gifts, support, and prayers. From the bottom of my heart, THANK YOU!! I love you all! Janyle
