Mom’s Wish List (An “I Wish” Poem)

I wish my laundry would wash itselfThen dry itself, fold itself, and put itself away.I wish my house would clean itselfDusting, vacuuming, and scrubbing until it shinesI wish dinner would make itselfAnd I could just show up at mealtimeI wish my homework would finish itselfWriting, studying, reading until completeI wish I could have all that timeSpent doing chores and tasksI wish I could spend it all with my childrenOutside, inside, playing, snuggling, being together.

Pink (A Color Poem)Pink is a tiny tonguePoking out of a tiny mouthPink is EllyWith enough shades to match her moodsPink is for girlsIf you ask OwenPink is upliftingBright, cheerful, happy!

Pink is new flowers springing upIn the yard when spring arrives.Pink is a newborn babyOnly a few hours old.Pink is glitter, bows, and dresses Fit for a princess.Pink is the cheeks of children Who have been running and playing.

Endless amounts of energy

Loves to wear fancy dresses

Loves animals and the outdoors

A force to be reckoned with

My Bed (A Comparison Poem)

My bed is a pair of warm armswelcoming me back, holding me, putting me to sleep, keeping me warm through the nightuntil morning comes, and I must leave those arms again.

Hermione (“I Am…” Poem)I am Hermione, with my frizzy hair and know it all attitude.I always have my nose in a book.I get stuck helping Harry and Ron, who are often clueless.I don’t mind, though, because they are my friends.I am Hermione - a sidekick but a very powerful one.

Owen (Free Form Poem)Sweet and sensitiveAlways full of love and snugglesBut still all boy –Superheroes and monster trucksDirt and rough-housingConstantly growing, he tells me he’s bigBut doesn’t understand that no matter how bigHe’ll always be my baby, my Owen, my first.

Home (A Limerick)

There once was a little homeAnd in it three kids did roamThey were noisy and loud But made Mommy proudEven though sometimes their antics she bemoaned.
