(EPRIMS)
-
IAEA
What is EPRIMS?
• Web-based knowledge management tool for:
• Emergency preparedness and response self-assessment
• Nuclear reactor technical information
• A database of information about a country’s arrangements and systems for managing nuclear and
radiological emergencies
• EPRIMS replaces TSA5 of RASIMS
-
IAEA
What are the needs that EPRIMS
respond to?
• Self-assessment • EPRIMS allows a country to measure itself against the IAEA safety
standards
• Harmonization • Knowing about other countries’ EPR arrangements helps
harmonization
• Global understanding • Sharing information on issues and challenges promotes a global
understanding
• Enhance national capabilities • Sharing knowledge on solution helps enhance national capabilities
• Better prognosis and assessment • Sharing data on reactor designs helps the prognosis and
assessment during emergencies
• It reflects the updated requirements in GSR Part 7
-
IAEA
Key features
• Can have multiple users within the country for easy review and coordination of self-assessment (Country coordinator/
National User)
• Can designate partner countries for sharing information
• Information is confidential until it is published
• Country Coordinator can choose with whom wants to share information after publishing
-
IAEA
Access to EPRIMS
• A Note Verbale (NV) has been distributed to all countries requesting designation of National
