If your family is anticipating taking a trip to San Diego, California, consider these possible destinations:The World-Famous San Diego Zoo. While the zoo is famous for its research and animal preservation programs; your kids will love seeing the pandas, koalas, and polar bears.

Filled with interactive learning stations,

the whole family

will gain a greater

appreciation for

the animals of the

world while having fun.

 Balboa Park.

Right next to the zoo, Balboa Park has 15 museums, gardens and performing art venues including the Old Globe Theater, and is filled with gorgeous Spanish-inspired architecture.

Seaport Village and the Gaslamp Quarter.

Seaport Village is a collection of boutique shops and eateries nestled next to the bright blue waters of San Diego Harbor; tour it during the day and at night, then head across the street to San Diego’s historic Gaslamp Quarter, for delicious food and vivacious entertainment.

You might also choose to stay in one of their many hotels.

Sea World.

Opening this summer, Sea World is opening a new Sea Turtle Bay to join their popular Shark Encounter and Wile Arctic exhibits. But do not miss the main event, Shamu, in his 1 million gallon pool.

San Diego Zoo Safari Park.

Originally called the Wild Animal Park and located in northeast San Diego, the Safari Park offers some very unique experiences, such as Flightline, a zip line ride over the enclosures, and a Photo Caravan where you can actually feed the giraffes and rhinos!

Coronado.

Ride across the skyline-defining Coronado Bay Bridge to a quiet and upscale neighborhood on the peninsula to enjoy a lazy day of wandering around specialty shops and fine restaurants.

At night, see a family-friendly play at the Lamb’s Players Theater and then walk over to see the gorgeous light display at the Hotel Del Coronado.

Petco Park and Qualcomm Stadium.

Depending on the season, satisfy your sports fans with a trip to see the San Diego Padres or the Chargers as they play in their home fields.

Petco Park is located

in the beautiful downtown district (be sure to imitate the wisdom of the locals and park at Fashion Valley and ride the trolley!).

They offer $5 tickets if you would like to have a picnic lunch on their lawn.

Mission Beach and Crystal Pier.

If you want to experience San Diego’s white sandy beaches, Mission Beach and its sister, Pacific Beach (“PB”), offer a wide array of opportunities, with a boardwalk, pier, sailboat and kayak rentals.

Belmont Park features the Giant Dipper – a classic wooden roller coaster with a 73 foot drop!
