While some might think that fantasy football is only fancied by men, more and more women are participating. As a matter of fact, a Harris Interactive Poll discovered that out of an estimated 30 million people who play, 6.5 million are women.

Some women participate in fantasy football as an excuse to throw parties and socialize; on the other hand, some use it as an extra tool to enhance their love for the sport. For whatever reason they choose, football fantasy has become a "shopping diverter" for women and an exciting game to enjoy.

So for the NFL season, you can expect to see less women in Macy's and Dillard's on Sundays as they would rather shop online--for pro athletes, that is.
