ME! M.E.N.T.O.R.ing Essentials by Lois Kendrick and Eva Anderson- For experienced providers who like working with other adults to Mentor, Educate, Nurture, Train, Observe and Role Model. This is the first part of the 12 hour Florida peer M.E.N.T.O.R. program for family child care providers to become a certified Mentor. This part is also open to support staff who mentor family child careproviders. Applicants must be accepted into the program prior to attending this class. 10:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Loose Parts Play by Jeff Johnson - Human brains crave novelty and are driven to understand and classify the world—just two of many reasons loose parts play is so valuable. This hands-on session dives deeply into how loosepart play advances children’s physical and intellectual development. We’ll look at why such play is important, how to support it, and spend time exploring lots of those loose play materials. Book included.

8:00 a.m. – Noon Mentor I Certification by Lois Kendrick and Eva Anderson - This is the second part of the 12-hour training. Book included.
Math Experiences for Infants, Toddlers and Twos by Donna Fowler - Discover how infants and toddlers are grasping mathematical concepts through their everyday routines. Explore the latest theory and research to determine how to promote mathematical thinking and support active, individualized learning dur-ing routines and experiences. Book included.
Bare Naked Activities! Tips for Transition Times by Lillian McCuen - Children of all ages sometimes have difficulties moving throughout the daily schedule - closing one activity and transitioning to the next activity. Make Every Minute a Learning Opportunity and fill that time with fun educational activities! Participants will actively play and learn fun tips/activities, with most requiring little to no prep or materials! Learn how to plan and connect the transition times to specific learning objectives throughout your lesson plan. Book included.
1:00 - 5:00 p.m. Vertical Gardening: Growing Up! by Eva Anderson, Master Gardener - Learn how to grow vegetables and fruits vertically instead of in rows. There are many benefits to this gardening technique for small spaces; less work, lessweeding, fewer pests, less time, less money, and more produce! Gardening offers children great hands-on experiences to teach STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art and math) responsibility and stewardship of the environment. Discover creative ways to turn trash into growing containers. Book included.
Creating Meaningful Math for 3-5 years by Donna Fowler - Discover the research related to how preschool children learn mathematical concepts and process skills. Examine the components of mathematics that form the basis of instruction. Explore ways to incorporate developmentally appropriate math activities in meaningful ways throughout the day. Book included.
Marketing 201: Diving Deeper by Cindy Krosky - Marketing starts by under-standing the difference between being in the “business of child care” versus being in the “child care business. ” While marketing involves how a product orbusiness is promoted, it starts with how we think and act regarding the business we provide. ME! M.E.N.T.O.R.ing Essentials by Lois Kendrick and Eva Anderson- For experienced providers who like working with other adults to Mentor, Educate, Nurture, Train, Observe and Role Model. This is the first part of the 12 hour Florida peer M.E.N.T.O.R. program for family child care providers to become a certified Mentor. This part is also open to support staff who mentor family child careproviders. Applicants must be accepted into the program prior to attending this class. This hands-on session dives deeply into how loosepart play advances children’s physical and intellectual development. We’ll look at why such play is important, how to support it, and spend time exploring lots of those loose play materials. Book included.

Math Experiences for Infants, Toddlers and Twos by Donna Fowler - Discover how infants and toddlers are grasping mathematical concepts through their everyday routines. Explore the latest theory and research to determine how to promote mathematical thinking and support active, individualized learning dur-ing routines and experiences. Book included.
Bare Naked Activities! Tips for Transition Times by Lillian McCuen - Children of all ages sometimes have difficulties moving throughout the daily schedule - closing one activity and transitioning to the next activity. Make Every Minute a Learning Opportunity and fill that time with fun educational activities! Participants will actively play and learn fun tips/activities, with most requiring little to no prep or materials! Learn how to plan and connect the transition times to specific learning objectives throughout your lesson plan. Book included.
1:00 - 5:00 p.m. Vertical Gardening: Growing Up! by Eva Anderson, Master Gardener - Learn how to grow vegetables and fruits vertically instead of in rows. There are many benefits to this gardening technique for small spaces; less work, lessweeding, fewer pests, less time, less money, and more produce! Gardening offers children great hands-on experiences to teach STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art and math) responsibility and stewardship of the environment. Discover creative ways to turn trash into growing containers. Book included.
Creating Meaningful Math for 3-5 years by Donna Fowler - Discover the research related to how preschool children learn mathematical concepts and process skills. Examine the components of mathematics that form the basis of instruction. Explore ways to incorporate developmentally appropriate math activities in meaningful ways throughout the day. Book included.
