The harmony that exists within the minds of individuals will be reflected in a healthy & harmonious society
I strongly believe in the sacred science of daily happenings rather than dreaming for something big to happen instantaneously. The motto of our institution is to pave way for a shining society that practices 'morality' and ethical standards at the highest degree possible by providing sensible & creative talents.
May the Almighty enable everyone associated with the growth of our institution to translate their dreams into reality. Congratulations to the editorial committee of Genesis.

It is better to make use of a chance to change your destiny rather than try to change your chances. Every one has a dream or goal that shapes their life & sparks passion. When we pursue our dreams! We feel greatly honored and empowered. This unbeaten potential in turn connects us to others who share the same thoughts & inspire them to reach their destination. This is no different from the vision statement of Ganga International School & PU College the brain child of Sri. Ganganarasaiah nurtured by Sri. Lakshminarasimha.
We, Gangaites believe in investing our resources & creative forces to enlighten the budding minds to enjoy their stay with us with a sense of pride and contentment. I Director & Principal, who joined this institution on April 25, 2012, am quite optimistic that we will be able to produce revolutionary ideas that can spin new insights and honorable patriotic societal leaders in the days to come.
Through the mighty columns of this edition of Genesis I would like to express my token of affection and gratitude to the management committee and trustee members for their flawless support in materializing the long cherished dream of the local public in a laudable fashion. I do appreciate the team spirit of the council of editors in ensuring the timely publication of Genesis. Very delightfully, let me appreciate the students for showcasing their creativity and imagination in the style of poems, articles, brain teasers, fun track and mathemagic. The magnitude of such a fantastic contribution makes the pages of genesis truly vibrant.
Congrats team 'Genesis'!!! Sri. Partha Sarathi Krishna Iyer

Life without memory is no life at all. Our memory is our coherence, our reason, our feeling,
even our action. Without it, we are nothing are the words of Luis Burnel. It is a small effort by the
editorial board to keep the dreams of Ganga International School evergreen through Genesis,
which highlights the record of events, celebrations, triumphs of the faculty and students collectively.
Our Honorable President Mr. Ganganarasaiah ventured to make a modest beginning to educate the
local children and Honorary Secretary Mr. Lakshminarasimha, who has been supporting his faculty
and students by his presence in all the events held at Ganga International School. Director &
Principal, Mr. Partha Sarathi Krishna Iyer deserves appreciation for his dynamic leadership in
steering the ship through calm and some times stormy ocean. I thank him and the members of the
editorial board in the painstaking Endeavour in bringing this issue of Genesis

DEVELOPMENT OF GANGA INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL AND PU COLLEGE: ROAD MAP TO SUCCESS
The future depends on what we do in the
present are the words of the father of our
Nation, Mahatma Gandhi. Ganga International
School was established in the year 2006.
Since its inception, the institution has been
striding towards the progress to achieve the
desired goal. The current academic year
2012-13 has witnessed number of events
within the short span of 6 months. (June-
December 2012).
A total number of 1000 students are
studying in this institution from Montessori to
PU level. The campus enjoys eco-friendly
environment. The institution has provided its
students with all the relevant facilities adequate
to the modern education system. From full

with, GIS has provided its students (classes
VI-X) individual copies of The Hindu, NIE
edition, along with the NIE sessions conducted
first and second Saturday of every month
throughout the academic year. This is to
imbibe in students the habit of reading news
paper regularly and update their knowledge
and current affairs.
The timings of the school has been extended by one hour to involve students in different extra-curricular activities like Yoga, Dance, Music, Instrumental, Taekwondo etc., and remedial classes for the slow achievers.
Power Point Presentation is a regular event has been conducted every Saturday by the students. This was introduced as the co-curricular activity to empower students with presentation skills. Display of Bulletin Board Competition between houses has been planned quarterly with different themes. The students and the faculty have been actively involved to exhibit their talent.
To add on, several events of GIS has been
published in the reputed news paper The Hindu,
School Edition. The GIS has lot more plans in
its nut shell in the coming days. Students are
excelling in Sports as well and represented at
District level as well as National Level.
The institution was fortunate enough to

Mr. Prashanth
Smile a while, while you smile others smile and soon there will be miles &miles of smile. Smile is the longest word in the English language, because it has a mile between the two S
Smile is a precious & a priceless gift, gifted to us from God. This quality is approved only by the human beings but not found in any other living creature in the world.
A person who smiles always considered as the most charming and attractive person. Such a person is admired and liked by all.
A small, cheerful, genuine smile is enough to deal with a hard, moody and serious person, which does not cost anything, but fetches a lot.
If we are tensed and worried we greet people with a smiling face. A smile gets a smile; smile brings happiness to those around. If we are jolly & fun loving, then we are liked by our peers. So friends keep smiling & it keeps people quizzing, Laughter is the best medicine!!
A smile can say what word cannot. Yes! Truly smile is the noblest quality of one's personality it is naturally the smile which conveys one's love, affection or liking for others. At the very first meeting. Smile signifies sympathy, warmth, interest and understanding.
Well if you want to know the significance of a smile just think back for a moment and recall the person whom you consider as the most charming and acquaintances. Is it possible for you to imagine the person without a smile no, never first think that come to your mind about an individual is his pleasing, attractive and never captivating and never captivating smile . The very first ingredient of charm and attractive personality is a nice, pleasing, happy and genuine smile-a-smile which is perhaps the best agent for making friends and instantly too. The important of smile is great.
All the feelings of pleasure, interest friendliness, respect, regard and willingness are converted by just one small but cheerful smile which cost you nothing of you have to deal with an enemy, moody or a series person. Just talk cheerfully and smile, I assure that your work will be done.
A smile can never go waste on meeting a person; just smile and you will see a reciprocating smile on even an other wise grain face, isn't it great.
The gap dividing yourself and an individual is greatly narrowed, if not completely eliminated, when you make your first impression on an individual with a smiling face, With a smile you win a lasting friend as the favorable first impression can easily be made to last till the end. A smile is like infections and spreads to help create a favorable impact on others. We all know that we know few people around us with just a smile without knowing their name. When we see the same person in unknown place we just cannot control the smile on our face.
At this time I remember what mother Theresa said it is not the magnitude of our actions, but the amount of love that is put into them that matters.
In our life there are many situation that we think again and again. Imagine you met a small child, and the child smiles. Without your knowledge all your 32 teeth are seen if present and what ever daring behavior you may have you cannot control your smile.
It is easy to hurt someone, real thing is you need guts to make some one smile. It will be a big mistake if I did not tell the famous person name and is saying that is the legend Charlie Chaplin. After all this if I have made you to think about all your old days where you smiled and enjoyed the priceless gift of god I think my job of making you smile For a while is done.

As Mathematics is part of everybody's day to day life, in olden days also, there were many well known Indian Mathematicians, amongst them Bhaskara, Chanukya and Srinivasa Rumanujan have made their place in the field of mathematics forever.
ndSrinivasa Ramanujan was born on 22
December 1887, at Erode, Tmilnadu district
and was one of the most outstanding
mathematicians that India has produced. He
contributed to the theory of numbers, continued
fractions, infinite series and mathematical
analysis .He started intuitively complicated
results in mathematics. He was first Indian to
be elected to the Royal society of Londan. He
was recognized by the mathematicians as a
phenomenal genius.
In 1911, he published his first paper in
the journal of Indian Mathematical Society. His
generousness gained him recognition leading
to a special scholarship from Univercity of
Madras and grant from trinity college of
Cambridge Univercity. Ramanujan has
publised several note books . The last book
actually a sheaf of 138 desparate pages,
contains the statements of approximately 650
theorams, all without proofs and clearly
emanates from the last year of Ramanujan's
life . Along with other manuscripts and letters by
Ramanujan found in the libraries at both
Combridge and Oxford. The last book was
published in the year 1988.
Mrs. Anita Deshpande
Ramanujan did not record any of his proofs with
his earlier note book and last note book. There
are perhaps several reasons .He worked
primarily on a slate as paper was expensive.
Thus after rubbing out, his proofs with his
sleeve, he recorded only the final results in his
note book. Speculations about Ramanujan's
method are plentiful. Many have suggested that
he discoverd his results by intuition or by
making deduczt ions f rom numerous
calculations or by inspirations from Goddess
Manager. Despite the lack of rigour at times,
Ramanujan undoubtedly thought and discried
proofs like any other mathematician but with
insights that surpass all but a few of the
greatest mathematicians.
Srinivasa Ramanujan passed away on
April 26, 1920 at the early age of 33 years. In
recognition of his contributions to mathematics,
the Government of India diclared in December
2011 to celebrate Ramanujan's birthday as
National Mathematics day every year on 22
December and declared the year 2012 as the
National Mathematics Year.

Helen Adams Keller was born on 27 June 1880 in Tuscumbia, a small rural town in North West Alabama, USA. When she was nineteen months old, she fell ill, the doctors of that time called it brain fever and Helen's illness had left her both blind and deaf. By the time Helen was six; her family had become desperate looking after Helen. Then Helen met Anne Sullivan her teacher in 1887, even she had lost majority of her sight at the age of five. Anne taught Helen to finger spell and Helen's behavior did begin to improve.
Helen was the first deaf blind person to enroll at an institution of higher learning, when she was joined Cambridge School for young ladies in 1896. On
th28 June 1904, Helen graduated from Radcliffe College becoming the first deaf blind person to be a Bachelor of Arts degree. In 1964 Helen was awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom. Helen Keller with the help of Anne Sullivan was responsible for the development of technologies and teaching methods for blind and deaf blind individuals exists today.
This is evidence that disability or poverty is not an obstacle for anybody to explore in their life, especially in education. Dr. Abdul Kalam, a living legend belonged to a very poor family rose to the position of the first person of India. It is quite natural to see SSLC/PUC results where in, many students from very poor families and few earn themselves to fulfill their educational needs top the State. These are the role models of Karnataka State.
Parents have a vital role in their child's education. By taking a few simple steps at home they can help the disabled children enjoy school more, improve their studying and homework skills. The parents should be creative enough in creating positive learning environment to make learning fun. Nothing helps a child succeed like an involved parent. A little willingness from a child's parents can work wonders in the classroom.
POVERTY/DISABILITY IS NOT AN IMPEDIMENT TO EXCEL IN EDUCATION
The National Policy on Education (NPE), 1986 and
the Programme of Action (1992) gives the basic
policy framework for education, emphasizing on
correcting the existing inequalities. It stresses on
reducing dropout rates, improving learning
achievements and expanding access to students
who have not had an easy opportunity to be a part
of the general system. The NPE, 1986 envisaged
some measures for integrating of children with
physical and mental handicap with the general
community as equal partners, preparing them for
their normal growth and development and
enabling them to face life with courage and
confidence.
Role of Parents towards disabled Children.
? Parents of a special needed child must
learn their rights and responsibilities first
? The copy of rights can be collected from
State's Department of Education website
? Parents also need to research their child's
school, learn about all the services
provided by the school including classes,
amenities and accessibility
? Maintaining good relationship with the
child's teacher
? Research child's disability
? Consulting other parents who have
experienced the same or similar things
? Find out the support group in the locality
? Parents also need to feel comfortable
letting their child go to school
-
Role of Schools towards disabled ChildrenThe duties of schools under Part 4 of the Disability Discrimination Act 1995 (as amended by the Special Educational Needs and Disability Act 2001) are:
? Not to treat disabled pupils 'less favourably' ? To make reasonable adjustments to ensure that disabled pupils are not at a substantial disadvantage compared to their peers ?Promote equal opportunity between disabled people and other people ? promote positive attitudes towards disabled People ? encourage participation by disabled people in public life ? take steps to meet disabled people's needs, even if this requires more favourable treatment
Additionally, schools also have a specific duty to develop, implement and publish in consultation with disabled pupils, staff and parent a disability equality scheme. Schemes should be published in a school's prospectus or on its website and hard copies should be freely available in reception areas. Schemes should be reviewed annually and replaced every three years.
Teachers and parents must identify the talents in the children especially the disabled children and encourage them to get their dreams come true. The race should not be the goal of a child during the learning process; they should enjoy learning in school and from the society. Getting first rank or topping in exams should not be the vision. They should feel every minute of their life and enjoy it and learn from all the moments they encounter.
Helen Keller, Mother Theresa, Dr. Abdul Kalam and many more inspirations are around us. The specialty of these legends is that they are individuals in unanimity. Meaning to say that these legends though look similar in their behavior or qualities, they seem to be individuals to each and every individual. Every individual feels them in his/her own way.
Where there is a Will there is a WayYes, nothing is impossible in life and one should have a clear vision what they want or wish to become in their life, and work towards it continuously and should not stop until they reach the goal. Mr. Prakash .K
Jagadguru Swami Bharati Krishna Teerthaji Maharaj established the vedic mathematics system from the ancient vedic text coupled with natural process of mathematical reasoning.
Advantages in the whole system are based on 16 sutras. Based on these sutras , calculations can be done with ease in a fraction of time. The calculations can be carried out mentally.
The students can invent their own methods of calculations and not limited to one correct method. This needs to enhance creativity and intelligence.
Helps a person to solve mathematical problems 10-15 times faster, increases self confidence, visualization power, memory power and concentration.
A trained student can solve the problem in fraction of seconds.
For Eg. 56 Here 5 are same number we have to take the next number of that is 6 x54 x 5 3024 30
5 6 6+4 is (10) 7+3=10 but we have to multiply that x5 430 24
st 63 This technique is ideal for 1 to BE students.x67

Are you the type of person who easily gets
influenced by negative advices? Follow this
short self confidence lessonWhen Henry
Ward Beecher was a young boy in school, He
learned a lesson in self confidence which he
never forgot. He was called upon to recite in
front of the class. He had hardly begun when
the teacher interrupted with an emphatic, No!
He started over and again the teacher
thundered, No! Humiliated, Henry sat down.
The next boy rose to recite and had just begun
when the teacher shouted, No! This student,
however, kept on with the recitation until he
completed it. As he sat down, the teacher
replied, Very good!Henry was irritated. I recited just as he did, he
complained to the teacher. But the instructor replied, It is not enough to
know your lesson, you must be sure. When you
allowed me to stop you, it meant that you were
uncertain. If the world says, 'No!' it is your
business to say, 'Yes!' and prove it.Henry Ward Beecher, a prominent
Congregationalist clergyman, social reformer,
abolitionist, and speaker in the mid to late 19th
century.
SELF CONFIDENCE
The world will say, 'No!' in a thousand ways.'No! You can't do that.''No! You are wrong.''No! You are too old.''No! You are too young.''No! You are too weak.''No! It will never work.''No! You don't have the education.''No! You don't have the background.''No! You don't have the money.''No! It can't be done.'
And each 'No!' you hear has the potential toerode your confidence bit by bit until you quitall together. Though the world says, 'No!' toyou today, you should be determined to say, 'Yes!' and prove it! Author: Steve Goodier

HOPES AND DREAMSYou stand below a darkened cloud,And expect the world to shine on you.You drink the tears of flying birds,And expect the drops to quench the thirst. You hide from shadows cast by light,And yet seek clarity within. You fear the winds that blow with frost,And yet desire to feel refreshed. You stand in illusions of hope and dreams,But never begin to work for them? You do your part,Till you please yourself; And leave the rest to destiny. For you remain what you are,The perfect imperfect man.

The nose has a left and a right side; we use both to inhale and exhale. Actually they are different; you would be able to feel the difference. The right side represents the sun, left side represents the moon. ? During a headache, try to close your right nose and use your left nose to breath. in
about five minutes, your headache will go.? If you feel tired, just reverse, close your left nose and breathe through you right nose. After a while, you will feel your mind is refreshed.? Right side belongs to 'hot', so it gets heated up easily, left side belongs to 'cold'.? Most females breathe with their left noses, so they get "cooled off" faster.? Most of the guys breathe with their right noses, they get worked up.? Do you notice the moment we wake up, which side breathes faster?
If left is faster, you will feel tired. So, close your left nose and use your right nose for breathing, you will get refreshed quickly.
This can be taught to kids, but it is more effective when practiced by adults. My friend used to have bad headaches and was always visiting the doctor. There was this period when she suffered headache literally every night, unable to study. She
took painkillers, did not work. She decided to try out the breathing therapy here: closed her right
nose and breathed through her left nose.In less than a week, her headaches were gone! She continued the exercise for one month. This
alternative natural therapy without medication is something that she has experienced. So, why not give it a try, yourself? It does not cost anything. You may have seen similar process in Yoga.
Left or right??

GENETICS:-ARTICLE Each Person is unique, but he or she also inherits
some characteristics and over appearance from his or her
parents. The study of how characteristics are passed on
from parents to offspring is known as genetics and it affects
all forms of life .At the center of the process is the
Deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) molecule, which exits inside
every living all and contains a complete chemical code
that controls the way in which life forms are put together
and operate.DNA is composed of genes, and DNA in turn,
makes up chromosomes. All of these microscopic
structures live in the nuclear of cells. A gene is the basic unit
of inheritance, a small segment of a DNA molecule.
There are about 100,000 genes in the 46 human. A
DNA molecule contains all the information required to make
and operate a specific organism.

EGYPT, ANCIENT
*Making a mummy:-They Egyptians first removed the organs and dried out the body with matron. They filled the Body with sawdust or dry leaves, then wrapped the body in bandages.
*Mummification:-Ancient Egyptians believed in life after death. They thought that people had a spirit as well as a body and that for the person to live in the next word, they therefore preserved the body of the death person in the form of a mummy*Mummy cases:-
The Egyptians placed the mummy inside a coffin or a case and put a cover on top. The coffins were decorated with writing, images of gods.
