Ships and other platformsfor which I have been

a key contributorin design and analysis

Sea Shadow (IX-529)Sea SLICE (SLICE)

Kilo Moana (SWATH AGOR 26)Waterworld Atoll

MV Susitna (E-Craft)COBRAOTEC

Sea Shadow (IX-529)

• Stealth technology demonstration platform

• Built inside Hughes Mining Barge (HMB-1) in 1980s in Redwood City

• Currently in Suisun Bay Reserve Fleet; available to qualified museum

Sea SLICE

• Demonstration vessel for efficient operation beyond Froude resistance hump

• Small waterplane minimizes motions

• Assembled at Pacific Marine in Honolulu as SLICE

• Intended to be inter-island ferry

• Currently in San Diego for occasional demonstration of variable payload capability

SWATH AGOR 26 R/V Kilo Moana

• Built at Atlantic Marine to serve the University of Hawaii for oceanographic research

Waterworld Atoll

• Movie set assembled at Kawaihae Harbor, Hawaii

• I analyzed flotation modules for stability in wind and waves with actors crowded to one side

MV Susitna

• Alaskan beachable icebreaking SWATH ferry

• Center vehicle deck is lowered to decrease draft for shallow water and beaching

• Built in Ketchikan by Alaska Ship & Drydock

• Aka E-Craft (Expeditionary Warfare Craft) while being tested by Navy for amphibious operations

COBRA

• Common Off Board Reconfigurable Asset

• Trailerable semi-SWATH for good efficiency and low motions without planing shock loads

• Replaceable payload space aft, like a pickup truck

OTEC

• Ocean Thermal Energy Conversion

• Will produce electricity from temperature difference of sea water at surface and ~1000 m deep, by a process similar to running a refrigerator backwards

• Pilot Plant for West Coast of Oahu
