On 14 August, the grand Fashion & Lifestyle Event of Seefeld Business Association will be held. Tyrol’s largest open-air fashion show, live music and DJs throughout the pedestrian precinct, walking acts, a summer grill, Casino Seefeld Charity Roulette & White Jackpot, and an atmospheric ‘white’ firework finale will turn night into day. And once again this year, the motto and dress code are: wear anything you want, as long as it’s WHITE. A party no ‘Fashionista’ in his or her right mind should not miss.
*** Thu, August 15*** Maria Himmelfahrt – Assumption Day – LN Holiday
Maria Himmelfahrt is the traditional day for an old Bavarian custom, the blessing of herbs. Medicinal and cooking herbs have gathered the summer’s sun and are now at their full strength and ready to be harvested. And of course they have to be blessed. Youngsters in traditional Bavarian costumes carry large mullein plants artfully decorated with medicinal and kitchen herbs and flowers to the church. These young children with their tall “Kräuterbuschn” are a delight to see and photograph. They all
gather in front of the church before they go in for the blessing.
Fri, August 15, all day, Innsbruck/Austria, Festival at Ambras Castle A great day out for the whole family. Get ready to travel back in time to the world of our medieval ancestors, featuring artists, sword fighters, jugglers and jesters, and musicians. There's a special program for children to get to know more about art, history and Early Music in a fun and play-ful way. A fancy dress competition with great prizes is, of course, another item on the agenda. Free admission!! http://www.innsbruck.info/en/experience/events/detail/article/schlossfest-ambras.html

at the Wank Bahn parking lot...
The folklore week starts with gun salute and a pa-rade of all participants to
the fest tent. On special oc-casions and anniversaries the parade will be much lar-ger and take place on a Sun-day with the addition of the mountain troops, local clubs, colorfully decorated car-riages, bands, flag carriers and the folklore clubs of the neighboring villages. The
program in the beer tent is made of folklore in all its facets: performances of the girls and boys of the folklore club doing dances and Schuhplat-tler“, the „historic old dance“ with its minuet like movements almost re-minds you of the ancient art of baroque dancing. Many other Bavarian folk-lore highlights show how deeply rooted the cus-toms and traditions really are. True folklore, tradi-
tional dress, song and dance of the local people can be experi-enced in a pure way in those beer tents. http://www.gapa.de/download/2014_06_23_festwochen_pa_programm_download.pdf

Dawn of the Planet of the Apes
USA, 2014 | Length: 131min | FSK: 12 | Director: Matt Reeves Cast: Gary Oldman, Keri Russell, Andy Serkis, Judy Greer
In this spectacular sequel to the 2011 science fiction film »Rise of the Planet of the Apes«, Andy Serkis (»The Lord of the Rings«) reprises his mesmerizing performance as the chimpanzee Caesar, who tries to maintain order over a growing nation of genetically evolved apes who are threatened by a band of humans near San Francisco, survivors of the devastating virus unleashed a decade earlier. They reach a fragile peace, but it proves short-lived, as both sides are brought to the brink of a war that will determine who will emerge as Earth's dominant spe-cies. Audacious, violent and disquieting, the long anticipated sequel combines astonishing special effects with a tension-filled, gripping story into a stunning, first-rate science fiction drama.
