How did I find my mast head?

Tracie Claire 13GT

Final Outcome

These two mastheads were my first original designs. As my Local newspaper is Called ‘The Wembley Examiner’ I included the Wembley Stadium Logo to show its relevance and comparison. Through the icon I attempted to keep the colour scheme the same consisting of blues and Whites. But the Fonts were simple and did not stand out and looked very boring so I continued experimenting.

Here shows my second and third design for my masthead. I included serious colours such as Black and red so local appealers would take this newspaper serious and may be intrigued to buy this. Using the red bars helped out line the Masthead but the colour scheme did not blend. I still insisted on using the Wembley Stadium logo to try and emphasise ‘Wembley’. Although the logo stood out it made the mast head look unorganised and messy. This shows that I tried experimenting with different colours but I found that the first colours I experimented with worked well with the logo I have chosen.

I have gone back to my original ideas by keeping the colour scheme similar and relative to the logo using blues and whites. The top Masthead shows I tried experimenting with two different fonts ( Arial, Accord Heavy) . This simply did not work but shows I’ve tried experimenting with different fonts and colours. The bottom Masthead shows I kept both words the same font to look more realistic and serious. The Blue background makes the white font stand out and which then becomes eye catching for the audience which is what I intend to do also along with a good lead story.

Here is my final outcome to my mast head for my local newspaper. This evidently shows that I've gone back to my original idea by keeping the colour scheme the same such as a mixture of blues to go with the logo and white to stand out so the audience will be able to see and read the title of the paper. I’ve used shadowing effects and outlines to make it look more professional but yet I have kept the font simple and bold.
