Explainthatyouseekthisinformationsoyoucanassignpeopletothetasksthattheyremostinterestedinandqualifiedtoperform.

2. Determineeachpersonslevelofinterestinworkingonthetasksforwhichheorshehasbeenproposed.

Ataminimum,askpeoplewhethertheyreinterestedinthetasksforwhichtheyvebeenproposed.Ifapersonisntinterestedinatask,trytofindoutwhyandwhetherthereisanythingyoucandotomodifytheassignmenttomakeitmoreinterestingtohimorher.

Ifapersonisntinterestedinatask,youcaneithernotaskandnotknowthereason,oraskand(ifyougetanhonestresponse)knowthereason.Knowingthatapersonisntinterestedisbetterthannotknowing,becauseyoucanconsiderthepossibilityofrearrangingassignmentsormodifyingtheassignmenttoaddressthoseaspectsofitthatthepersondoesntfindappealing.
