Step1:InstallAnkiInstallAnkionyourdesktopandyoursmartphonefromthefollowinglink:http://ankisrs.net/Step2:DownloadAnkiCardTemplateTohelpyougetstartedrightaway,youcandownloadmyAnkicardtemplateforlearningChinesecharactersandcreateyourflashcardsfromthere.http://mightymandarin.com/resources/ChineseCharacters.apkg

Fig.1:Inthemnemonic,theitalicsindicatethesoundequivalentinEnglishandtheboldindicatethecharactercomponentsandmeaning.Step3:LaunchAnkiAndImportDeckAfterdownloadingtheAnkidesktopversion,launchtheapplicationandinthemenu,gotoFile>Import.SelecttheChineseCharacters.apkgfiletoimportthecardtemplate.Onthehomescreen,you’llseeanewdeckcalledChineseCharacters.ClickBrowseandselecttheChineseCharactersdeckontheleft.Youwillseetwocardsalreadycreatedforyouofthecharacter好. Onecarddisplaysthepinyinanddefinitionfirstandtheothercarddisplaysthereverse(characterfirst.)

Step4:AddYourOwnAnkiCardsClicktheAddiconatthetopoftheBrowsewindoworreturntotheHomescreenandclickAdd.Eitheractionwillpresentyouwithapopupdialogueboxwithemptyfields.MakesuretheTypeandDeckaresettoChineseCharactersbeforeyoustartfillinginthefields.
