Participate: it’s about the team(this is the coaching session itself)

• This is business coaching not personal coaching (although there is an element of the latter)

• Challenge assumptions; tolerate conflict

• Members bring functional knowledge, take away functional commitment

• Keep an action log

Practice: get on with it!(follow up to the coaching session)

• Address agreed actions with urgency; do the obvious straight away

• Don’t forget to attend to the daily business

• Be continuous!

• Keep the coach in the loop so that issues can be addressed quickly and briefing time minimised

Prepare: set an agenda(ready for the next coaching session)

• How’s the business doing?

• How have we progressed since the last meeting?

• What issues do we need to address today

• Remember it’s your meeting so you set the agenda to get maximum out of it
