How to Prepare a GraphTracking your TCAP progress

Gather your materials.

• Two sheets of paper• Two

colored pencils• Ruler

Head your paper correctly.

Title your paper.

Draw a vertical line three inches.

Draw a horizontal line four inches.

Title your graph 1.5 inches below the horizontal axis.

The name of the first graph is called “TCAP Reading Graph.”

Outline your graph and title of your graph in the color of your choice.

Place ten grid lines on your y-axis.

These are grid lines.

Label the y-axis grid lines 100 to 1000.

Label the y-axis “Scale Score.”

Place four grid lines on the x-axis one inch apart.

Label the x-axis grid marks 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013.

Under the dates, place the grade you were in during that year.

Label the x-axis “Dates.”

Pick up the second colored pencil. Trace the grid marks on the y and x axes, the numbers on the y-axis, the dates and grades on the x-axis, and the titles of both x and y axes. Whew!

Write the words “SMART Goal:” under the title of your graph.

Graph one is complete!!!!

But your assignment isnot complete.

Turn your paper over. Repeat the steps forGraph Two.

The title of graph two will be “TCAP Writing Graph.”

Once graphs one and two are complete, set up graph three. Call it “TCAP Math Graph.”

Now, you are ready to plot your scores on the graphs. I’m excited to see how well you did!
