TRANSCRIPT

I'll tell you a story.(It happens to be about me).

This is me.

My name is Anna

I have worked in most areas of comms and

marketing for 12 years.

(Because I can't get enough of communication!)

I have a website too.

Check out Communicate [your] Skills if you're

interested.

(I've pointed annarydne.com at the same page for those who think my

name is easier to remember.)

People online have been very kind to me.

It made my day!

One person tweeted that my blog was the best

comms/marketing site he'd seen in a while.

steamfeed.com is one of them. I write for them twice a month. socialmediatoday.com is another.

I've had the privilege to guest post and contribute

on several other sites.

That's nice! (I will pin it to my virtual wall so I can go back and smile at it

when I'm old).

The other day I got a message from Kred telling me I was in their top 1 % of

online in luencers.

I preach

...a genuine voice

...transparency in communication

...the power of emotions

I believe in

honesty

I tell things like they are.

I prefer the truth.

un-wrapped

I'm proud to say...

I keep my promises.

Always deliver.

And don't stab anyone in the back.

My mission is

to build a bridge between

comms pros

marketers

and receivers of the message.

They may be

customers

employees

the public

I do not only think as a communications

professional.

I think as one in the audience as well.

Because that's what we all are.

We are exposed to 5,000 messages every day.

Only the most relevant survive.

Sometimes I tell a story to make my point.

Because stories make people care.

Sometimes I use a bit of humor to connect.

It can be a bit dry.

Like when I use

Henry VIII as a symbol

for down-sizing...

...or pick a photo of Martha to visualize someone who just need a bit of DNA to whip up a white horse in the garage.

I treat communication as entertainment.

(The same principle applies both in

private and public life).

If it isn't funny, people switch channel.

That's the truth.

Boredom kills.

I fight it every day.
