Minor Scales

Inlesson7youlearnedhowtoplaytheAminortriad.This,asyouknow,is

alsothechordofAminor.

InthislessonyouwilllearnhowtoplayaminorscaleonA-theAminor

scale.Theminorscaleincludesthenotesoftheminortriad.Therearetwo

keyfactstoknowandunderstand.

• Theminortriadhas3notes.

• Theminorscalehas7notes.

Thereisarelationshipbetweentheminortriadandtheminorscaleandyou

shouldlookatthisfirst.

Minor Triad / Minor Scale Relationship

Asstatedintheintroduction,thereisarelationshipbetweentheminortriad

andtheminorscalewhichisbestexplainedtoyouinsteps.
