Joseph William Mallard Turner was one of the worlds most influential artists, especially among artists.

Although his work is well documented it is hard to find examples beyond a narrow range of his more famous works. He was somewhat proliferate

I came across these exquisite water colours, which go beyond that of scientific recording, in a discarded library book.

These works are from Turner's book of Birds done whilst staying at Farnley Hall. I believe the originals can be viewed at Leeds City Art Gallery.
