JOBSUMMARY:UnderthegeneraldirectionoftheBuildingEngineer,theFacilityTechnicianpositionservesasageneralfacilitymaintenancetechnician,byperformingworktasksrelatedtorepairingandmaintainingvarioustypesofcommercialbuildingrelatedequipmentandcontrolsystems,alongwithHVAC,Electrical,Plumbingandanyotherbuildingrelatedsystems.Thesuccessfulcandidatemustbewillingtoworkaflexiblescheduleof40hours perweek,whichwould include evening ,weekend andholiday shifts as required and scheduledby theoperationsmanagement.Thispositionwillworkinamulti-venueperformingartscenter,providingasafe,wellmaintainedenvironmentforfacilityguests,tenantsandCenterstaff.

ESSENTIALJOBFUNCTIONS:

• Experience in the operation, repairing and preventative maintenance of various commercial HVACequipmentthatincludes,watercooledchillers,coolingtowers,largeboilersystems,HVACpumps,constantand variable volume air handlers, fan coil units, fan powered boxes, VAV’s, VFD’s, and other associatedHVACequipment.

• General building maintenance skills and/or mechanical abilities that can easily perform repairs andmaintenance requests throughout all our facilities on plumbing, electrical, interior & exterior buildinglightingsystems,interiorwalls,whichincludepainting,andvariousotherfacilityrelateditems.

• Willing and able to work on building equipment in confined spaces, plus work in “high” areas of thebuildings, off of high lift equipment, scaffolding, swing stages, ladders, etc. with the appropriate fallprotectiongear.Thesehighareasincludeceilingsupto65’high,backstageareasandcatwalkssuspended45’to90’fromthestagefloor,roofs,etc.

• Assistwiththerequiredmonthly,quarterlyandannualtestingofallbuildingsystems,whichinclude,butisnotlimitedto,sumppumpsystems,emergencybackupgenerators,firealarmsystems,firepumpsandfiresprinklersystems.

• Willingtoworkoutdoorsduringallmonthsoftheyear,onfacilityrelateditems,includingbutnotlimitedto,exterior lighting & electrical repairs, street light poles, street bollard repairs, snow & ice removal, asrequired.

• Assistinproperlymaintainingallmaintenancerepairequipmentandtoolsinaprofessionalmanner,andinkeepingallfacilityworkareasclean&organizedtopromoteasafeworkingenvironment.

• Able to lift aminimum of 75lbs of supplies,materials, equipment, etc., without assistance, using properliftingtechniques.

• Performanyotherdutiesthatmaybeassignedbytheoperationsmanagementstaff.

ExperienceRequired:Aminimumof3to5yearsexperienceinthecommercialbuildingmaintenancefield,preferablyinasimilarsizedcomplexofatleast250,000sq.ft.

EducationRequired:

Minimumhighschoolgraduateand/ortradeschoolgraduatewithspecializedtraininginabuildingrelatedfield,whichcouldincludeHVAC,refrigeration,electricalorotherbuildingtrade

CertificationsandLicensesthatwouldbepreferred:
