LEARN FLOURISH BUILDConstruction is vital to the economy. We all need homes to live in, as well as offices, workplaces, shops, music venues, cinemas, stadiums, stations, hospitals, cafes… the list of buildings we need and use is long.
Construction has stood up well to Coronavirus. It is one of the few industries that has weathered the challenges and taken Covid-19 in its stride. One thing that people in construction do well is solve problems, so taking on a challenge and beating it is second nature to the best builders. The Government also recognises construction as a priority industry and has kept it open for business.
Your route to join one of the largest sectors of the economy and become one of London’s best builders starts here. This prospectus features the training courses and programmes on offer from five of West London’s top construction training providers who have teamed up to showcase what they have to offer to you.
The training providers are:
Build Training
Harrow & Uxbridge Colleges
MIT Skills
West London College
West Thames College
These training providers work collaboratively, are firm supporters of the Mayor’s Construction Academy and provide high-quality pathways into construction.
The Mayor’s Construction Academy (MCA) aims to help more Londoners train in the skills they need to access construction sector vacancies on the capital’s housing construction sites. Site-ready workers are needed right now.
To help deliver the skills and workers needed by London’s construction employers the Mayor’s Construction Academy has set up a series of Hubs, across London.
The MCA has also launched:
A Quality Mark, that identifies and recognises high-quality construction skills training, the curriculum, routes into employment and strong links with employers.
Hubs to help Londoners, employers, training providers and the organisations supporting them to work collaboratively - enabling more people to enter training and find jobs.
Investment for equipment and facilities to support the delivery of high-quality construction training in London.
