Social Computing Social Computing is the study of the use of

information and communication technologies that consider human social context.

The Lincoln Social Computing (LiSC) Research Centre comprises an inter-disciplinary research team with backgrounds ranging from comp science, psychology, behavioural sciences, HCI, games design and software engineering.

Our approach is usually to design and implement software applications on mobile and social platforms and evaluate them in social settings in real world “in the wild” situations.

ENACT The Lincoln Social Computing (LiSC) Research Centre recently started an EPSRC project

“Exploring social Networks to Augment Cognitive behavioural Therapy

The project will explore how social media can be used as a platform to increase engagement with CBT treatments for common mental health conditions such as insomnia.

This is worth £500,000 overall and is in collaboration with colleagues in HLSS at Lincoln, as well as at Loughborough and Sussex Universities and with industry.
